I realized that people who haven't read Weak Hero don't know what Gray and Stephen look like. Those are the only two that I gave a description of. Gray is the cover of this comic. He's a cutie. This is Stephen.

Ben's Point Of View

--------------------------------------------

When I texted the group chat I wasn't expecting anyone to respond. Who else would be up at 3:30 in the morning? I was more than a little surprised when Gray texted back, fixing my sentence to be proper and saying I wasn't the only one up. I stayed up all night because I didn't want to sleep. No other reason. The next thing I knew him and I were meeting up to get coffee at this little café that open 24 hours by my favorite little chicken store. Ttosik chicken. Best fried chicken ever. I don't remember what the café is called though.

I quickly pulled out my uniform and dressed, grabbing my book bag which hadn't been touched since I got home yesterday. I wrote a note and left it on the counter saying I left early so my parents wouldn't worry. I quickly made my way to the café. I was nervously running my hands through  my red-ish hair. The silent boy always made me nervous. I didn't really know why. He didn't really talk and he didn't show what he was feeling like I did. I found it weird, but I was terrified of the kid, and I wasn't scared of anything. Well I was scared of a lot, but the fear that surprised me the most was Gray.

I was reaching the café when I saw a small silhouette looking up at the sky. It was kinda cold, but Gray just looked at ease. It was the calmest and open that I had ever seen him, like he wasn't wearing a mask that hid what he was feeling. His silvery-gray hair was out of his eyes, which were soft and full of sadness. He drew in a deep breathe and looked by at the ground, his hair covering his face and the mask returning on his face. I hadn't realized it, but I had stopped in my tracks, staring.

I started to walk again, the cold and my thoughts urging me to go faster.

"Hey Gray," I exclaimed once I reached him. "I hope I didn't make you wait to long."

He looked at me with those snake eyes. "No. I had just gotten here a minute ago. And your on time."

I looked at my phone to see it was 3:40 on the nose. I was never on time. Why just this once?

"Come on," Gray grabbed my sleeve and tugged me into motion. "You look cold."

I was cold. I couldn't get how he wasn't. He was just skin and bones he should be colder than me. I decided to ask. "I am cold. Are you not?"

He let out a puff of air, almost like a laugh, but his face held no smile. "I'm freezing my ass off. I've had to spend a lot more time in the cold than you would think though and I'm good at not showing it." He let go of my sleeve and we continued to make our way into the café when I felt my face heat up. I was blushing. Lightly. Hopefully lightly. I don't want Gray to get the wrong idea. But what was the right idea? Oh goodness, this is gonna be rough.

------------------------------------------

When we got into the café the warmth of the place was a warm welcome to the cold morning. I still didn't know what it was called though. Gray looked at me, waiting for me to do something. So I did. I walked over to a small table for two, and put my book bag over the seat. Gray did the same to the chair across from me. I walked up to the counter with a tired worker trying his best to look alert.

"Hi, what can I do for you?" he asked, clearly stifling a yawn.

"I'll have a," I looked over the menu above his head, "a mocha." I turned to face Gray who had silently come up behind me. The workers eyes widened at the sight of him. "What do you want? My treat."

"An Americano," he spoke quietly looking up at me, a slightly grateful expression coming onto his face. "please."

I looked back at the guy behind the counter. I looked at his name tag, which read 'Hunter.' He was still staring at Gray with wide eyes. I noticed he was blushing lightly. "So, one mocha and one Americano?" he asked, finally looking back at the cash register.

"Yes," I said, giving him a cheery smile.

I paid him and went back to the table, Gray following, as Hunter made our drinks. When we sat back down it was quiet. Not comfortably quiet, but awkwardly quiet, where you don't know what to say and you just end up looking at each other. It was even worse with Gray's blank eyes. It looked like he was picking me apart learning my deepest darkest secrets.

"Do you like sweets?"

"Huh? Why do you ask?" I was confused why he asked.

"You ordered a mocha. Those drinks are extremely sweet. You have to have a sweet tooth and a desperate need for caffeine to want one of those," he observed.

I chuckled. "Yes I like sweet things and I am in desperate need of caffeine."

That simple question started off a long ass conversation between the two of us. I learned that Gray hated sweets and was completely addicted to coffee. I also learned that Gray didn't sleep most nights. When I asked why though, he just looked away and said, "dreams."

Before I knew it both of our phones were exploding from all the others in the group chat and it was time for us to head to Eujang. On our walk there we continued to talk about everything and nothing at all. It was nice. Really nice to talk to him. I found myself trying to get him to talk so I could hear his voice and slowing down a bit trying to prolong when we would reach the school.
