It's been half a month already and I'm thinking of withdrawing from this project. I'm sure you know why, Mace. It's as if he got worse over time

I can't take it anymore, how Mace maltreats me. I'm also human and I have feelings, he can't just treat me like a sack of beans. He comes home really late either drunk or stoned. And he has turned more aggressive than before, as the red hand prints of my face proves. 

Yes, he slapped me. I tried confronting him to give him a piece of my mind but unknowingly to me, he was already in a bad mood because I didn't even finish uttering my sentence when I felt a sharp sting at the side of my face

There was a day when Mace came in very drunk and tried to touch me. I smacked his hand away but being the persistent guy I know him as he got very mad at me "I am your husband and I do what I want to you" he bellowed which resulted to the twins crying

I had to go to them to comfort them from his outburst but the animal, Mace, couldn't care less. He kept on demanding for his so-called rights but he eventually gave up after several refusals from me and went out

Why would the teacher pair me up with someone who doesn't care about the children but only to get in bed with me?

I should report but I also can't risk it. I know he will be sent home, according to what the principal said, but it means I'll be the only one without a partner and how sure am I that I won't be sent home since I'm partner-less

"Mom, I'm hungry" Emily whined breaking me before I dove too far in thoughts. I sighed, we've been through just half of the first month and the food is almost finished. Mace eats like an animal; I get he eats like an animal but why waste the food. I can't count the amount of time he had thrown food away because of one reason or the other

"Ok baby. I'll be right back" I kissed her fore head then went into the kitchen. I opened the fridge to find a decent amount of food left but I'm sure it won't last us all through the month before we start working

I decided to make spaghetti and meatballs for Emily and I. And also prepared something for the twins incase they get hungry, currently they were asleep.

The food was done then I served it in plates, one for me and one for Emily. "Here" I handed it to her as I took my seat on the couch, in the living room. I moaned as I put the food in my mouth. It has been long since I had eaten properly

The reason being that, I noticed that the food wasn't much so I decided that if I eat minimal, it would be enough. I haven't eaten well for a week and some days now. I look so lean, unattractive and I had bags under my eyes

But for some reason I didn't care, my main priority was my family. "Mom, I want more" Emily said, her plate empty. I looked down at my plate, "Take this" I handed her my plate as she smiled, skipping off to eat.

I sighed "Another meal interrupted". I got up to wash all the plates used in the kitchen as I heard the front door open 'Mace'. "Riele" I was surprised when Saul's voice called out. "In the kitchen" I yelled

"Hey" I heard him say once he was in the kitchen. "Hi" I smiled. "What happened to you?" he asked. "What do you mean?" I asked confused. "You're not like you used to be. You look lean, weak and sleep deprived" he said.

"It's nothing. Just the stress and all" I smiled. "What about your husband, Mace? Can't he help you?" he asked. "He has been busy" I covered up. 'He's not worth you covering up for him' my brain said

"But he isn't-" I cut him off from asking other questions. "What brings you here? I'm sure you didn't just come here to interrogate me" I smiled at him. "Oh yeah, Lizzy's hosting a small birthday party for Damon and she wants you to come" he smiled brightly
