BEYOND THE CLOUDS

CHAPTER FIVE

Kelvin’s POV
Living as an angel on earth meant that it was easy for me to detect good for nothing pretenders like Jeff.

Before anyone could interfere in our argument, we had started fighting,  trowing punches at each other but in the background I could hear Danny screaming at us to stop.

Not too long after, a teacher came in and stopped us before taking us to the principal's office.

Jeff's POV
We both sat in front of the old lady in glasses as she listened to the teacher's explanation and when he was done, her attention came back to us.

"You both know that fighting is against school rules, don't you?" She asked
"We do" we both chorused

"And as for you Jeff, today is your first day and you're already getting into trouble — I'm going to  give you both a week of detention instead of suspending you" she told us

"Damn it" I whispered but all she did was glare at me.

Thanks to Danny's hostile friend, my good guy reputation had already been dented before I could even start building it.

Danny's POV
After Jeff and Kelvin were taken to the principal's office, I limped my way to the library still feeling pains in my ankle.

As I walked in,I heard murmuring and saw people starring at me then I heard someone say
"There she is, Danny Emerald — I heard kelvin and the new guy got into a fight over her"

I couldn't believe that rumours about me had already spread so quickly.
I ignored the gossips and got myself a place to seat.

I was already studying when ten finger with shiny red painted nails spread across my book. I looked up to see a blonde haired girl with green eyes and way to much makeup for a student dressed in a yellow short gown

"Excuse me but your fingers are on my book" I told her and just then three other girls who I guessed were from her click showed up

"Show some respect low life" on of them said
"Do you know who I am?" The make up freak asked and I shook my head
"I'm Claire — Runny Claire" she said

I had heard about Runny Claire whose  dad was the vice principal and -   according to what I heard - was proud  but I hadn't imagined her to be so flashy and have a click of fashion obsessed dummies

"oh! I've heard about you" I told her
"I'm sure you have — anyway I'm not here for a friendly chit chat. I'm here to warn you to stay away from Jeff, he is mine" she said to me rudely

I scoffed before saying
"Listen Claire, feel free to claim Jeff as yours. I have no interest what so ever"

"Of course you'll say that after attempting to get his attention and being ignored" she replied

I couldn't understand how one person could be so full of themselves. To me she was making absolutely no sense since Jeff and I were already becoming friends whereas he probably didn't even know her but I didn't see the need to ague so I just got up and said
"I have no time for this, excuse me" and then I left but made sure to slap Claire's face with my hair as I walked away.

Kelvin’s POV
When we got out of the principal's office, I crossed path with Danny who was still limping

"You're still limping" I stated the obvious but she didn't reply instead she tried to walk away but I held her back

"What's wrong with you? Won't you at least ask what the principal said?" I asked
She glared at me before saying
"Why did you have to fight? What was the need for everything you did and said?" 

"Listen, I know you won't believe me but I'm sure Jeff is up to something" I replied
"He's just a normal kid trying to live a normal life who has only spent a day here but sadly already has an enemy" she said raising her voice slightly and gesturing to me as she said the word 'enemy'

I sighed heavily before I said
"Fine — I'm sorry" but she just walked away.

Danny's POV
The moment I opened my locker, a letter fell out. I picked it up and read it

Come meet us at back of the school right now, we need to talk with you

I looked round but no one was paying attention to me so I couldn't suspect anyone.

I closed my locker and went straight to the back of the school and when I got there, I met Claire and her click

"Well well well — here comes the queen of bitches" Claire said folding her arms as I approached her

"What do you want now?" I asked feeling irritated by her presence

"Well since you had the guts to swing your hair in my face and walk out on me, I decided I would teach you a lesson" she explained but the only reaction I gave was raising a questioning eyebrow.

"It will be a shame to shred your beautiful long hair but I will anyway" she added then out of no where one of click members brought out a pair of scissors and gave it to Claire

"You're kidding right — you're pathetic" I scoffed before turning around to leave but almost immediately, Claire turned me back to face her and slapped me

"How dare you try to walk out on me!" she screamed in my face but I kept my eyes shut as the anger about her slapping me built up in me

"What's the matter Danny, too scared to open your eyes" Sam - one of Claire's click members - mocked me

I opened my eyes at once and they all screamed scrambling back. They all looked so terrified

"Oh my gosh! — how did her pupils turn so dark all of a sudden and what's happening to her hair" Claire screamed to her click

"I think — I think she's a —WITCH!!!" Sam screamed
