3 hours later, me and Jamie were still on the phone talking, but she had to hang up and get ready for work. I got up from bed and decided to freshen up for this little hangout situation with Sane. I heard my mom walk in the house from downstairs, I grabbed my phone and my purse and headed downstairs to speak with her. "Hey how was your first day?" She asked. I shook my head getting annoyed with it, "it was ok, but I left early," I replied. "Why what happened?" She asked me. " I saw Rome and it didn't go well, but I did make a friend or two," I stated and her eyes grew.
"Your ex from Freshman year, Rome Flynn?" She asked and I nodded. "Wow," she spoke. "You can tell me about your day later, its been a long day for me," she stated and I nodded understanding. "Oh and I'll be leaving out in a couple minutes, someone is planning on showing me around," I told her and she smiled. "I'm not going to be strict on you this time, it's your senior year and I want you to have fun, but don't have too much fun and end up getting pregnant," she replied and I laughed. "That's definitely not going to happen," I told her and she nodded. "Well, I'll see you later. I am going to take an oil bath with candles because I need it," she stated and I laughed. "Enjoy," I told her and she nodded and headed upstairs.
After she went upstairs, I ended up getting a text from Sane, him letting me know that he is outside. I grabbed my purse and walked out the house and walked up to his car. He unlocked the doors and I got in. He turned and looked at me and smiled, and I smiled back. I didn't know what to say. Then he pulled off and drove to wherever we were going.
"So," he started. "Yep," I replied. "Sorry if I'm making this awkward. I really don't know what to say," he stated and I nodded. "Its fine, it happens. Our conversations will be more easier, when we are use each others company," I stated and he nodded. "You got a point, and plus we just met." He replied.
"I feel like I want to ask you a question, I just don't know what to say," I spoke. "Same, like I keep opening my mouth then I'm like nah, that's lame never mind," he replied and we both laughed. "Yes exactly, how can we not make this little situation not so weird?" I asked. "I guess hangout more," He replied and I nodded.
All of a sudden, he stopped the car and we were in front of a house. "I'm sorry, I gotta make one quick stop, but you can come in with me if you want," he stated and I took off my seat belt off, he turned the car off and we walked up to the door, he knocked on the door and we waited for someone to answer the door and it was Rome.
"Oh.." he spoke when he saw me, then he saw Sane with me and he shook his head. "Hey Arianna," he spoke and I ignored him, I have nothing to say to him since I'm apparently no one to him, he even treated me like I was no one when he never got in contact with me when he left. "You guys know each other?" Sane asked. "Nope, we just met," I spoke sounding annoyed and Rome scratched the back of his head. "Well y'all can come on in I guess," Rome stated. Before we walked in, I stopped Sane. "Can you unlock the car doors, I think I would rather just stay in the car." I stated, he was really confused but he shrugged his shoulders and gave me the keys instead. I walked away from them and went to the car and Sane went in the house, I got in the car and Rome was still standing in the doorway, after standing there for a few minutes looking at Sane's car, Sane finally came out and he walked up to the car and got in. He started the car back up and pulled off.
"Mind if I ask, what just happened back there?" He asked, "ok, um Rome is my ex but he did me bogus at the time while we were dating," I stated. "Oh so he's your ex. That's crazy," he stated. "Definitely, I never felt so annoyed to be in his presence," I told him. "What exactly happened between you two?" He asked. "Well apparently he was moving away and didn't get in contact with no one in damn near 4 years," I replied. "And we were still dating at the time. It was our freshman year, he was moving, he never said a word to me about it and he never contacted me in like 4 years. And when I ended up moving out here and finding out that he's in a relationship with someone else, kind of hurts. Like we never had a conversation about breaking up or anything, he just moved on with no word and my ass was just so confused, I was depressed for awhile about it. I thought that I might have did something to him, but honestly I don't know. I don't ever want to speak to him anymore or hear anything from him. He called me a nobody in front of the whole cafeteria, so I will treat him like we don't know each other," I explained.
"Damn.. I'm sorry that happened to you," Sane apologized. "No its fine," I replied. "Matter a fact, I'ma text the guy I'm inviting for Kayla and tell him to meet me somewhere else. I'ma take you somewhere else, I'll show you around another time, I'll let you relax and hopefully get your mind off of Rome." He explained and I nodded.
We were still driving and it started to get dark out. I closed my eyes for 2 seconds and the car stopped, I opened my eyes and wherever we are, it kind of felt like we were on top of the world or something. Then I looked out my window and Kayla & some guy was next to us, Kayla looked over at us and smiled.
I looked over at Sane and he smiled, I smiled back and got out of the car. The view was so beautiful, I walked kind of near the edge and looked out at the city, I turned around and Sane was sitting on the hood of his car. I walked over and sat next to him. A small breeze went by and I shivered a little, I guess he noticed and he wrapped a blanket around me. "Thank you," I spoke. "No problem," he replied.
I looked at him and he looked back at me, "its really beautiful out here," I stated. "The stars are too," he smiled, I laid back and looked up at the stars, I tilted my head a little bit and Kayla seemed very giggly with her guy. And I turned my attention back to the dark sky full of stars.
Then Sane laid back with me and looked up at the stars with me, "what you thinking about?" He asked me. "Just wondering if my senior year will be a smooth year, but I don't think so. And I can feel the negative energy that its going to come with," I explained. "Don't think about that, just think about the now," he stated and I nodded. "Don't stress yourself out," he added. "You're right," I spoke.
"Umm... do you still have feelings for Rome?" He randomly asked me out of nowhere, after he told me not to stress. I turned and looked at him, "don't worry about it. I'm so sorry, I'm really bad at conversation," he stated. "Its ok, and to answer your question... I really don't know," I replied back as I turned my attention back to the sky.
We found ourselves trying to make conversation with each other, but it felt so weird.
