Hosuh is slowly pulled from sleep by a nudge, however he keeps his eyes closed, knowing exactly who is trying to wake him. "Hosuh," there's another nudge, "I'm making icepops with soda, wanna help?" Hosuh opens his eyes to meet the purple ones belonging to Stephen, who squats next to Hosuh's bed nudging him continuously. Hosuh's eyebrows furrow in confusion, "It's winter, why are you making popsicles?" Stephen dramatically sighs and gets up to head for the door, "If you can't appreciate the craft of icepops, I'm gonna just do it myself—" "No, no, I'll get up and help," Hosuh catches a glimpse of Stephen's smile as he sits up in the bed, and Hosuh knows he has to get ready for the day now, "You go on without me, I'll be right there," Hosuh says, waving a dismissive hand at his most favorite person in the world that stands near the door. Speaking of such, Stephen tilts his head and asks, "In five minutes?" Hosuh holds up five fingers, "Five minutes," Stephen hums in a sing-song tone and opens the door to leave, "Alright, but I'm holding you to that!" and with that, Stephen leaves while closing the door behind him.
Hosuh is proud of Stephen. I mean, they kinda went through a small falling out because of their mutual feelings, that Stephen specifically didn't want to admit? Is that what it was? Hosuh will have to talk to Stephen more about it someday. Hosuh is proud of Stephen for opening up to him about it, in the small degrees that he has so far. But right now, Stephen's waiting for him to come help, so Hosuh gets ready as fast as he can in five minutes before running downstairs, trying not to trip in his still sleepy daze.
Stephen must've heard Hosuh's frantic footsteps down, because the second he's in the kitchen Stephen says, "So here's the plan!" Stephen was going to continue, but when he turned around he snickered, ruffling Hosuh's hair, "Bed head." "You said five minutes, that means no time to brush my hair!" Hosuh argues his point and Stephen ignores it, "Anyway, recently I may have made the impulsive purchase of this icepop mold of a bear face. Look at the inside, it's a bear face," Stephen shows off these four bear face molds, and Hosuh takes one of them, opening it to see the cute bear face inside, "Icepop bear face molds exist?" "I know, right?! I think they were supposed to be like clay molds, like Playdoh, but we don't follow the rules," Stephen goes to the fridge and takes out Sprite and grape soda, putting them on the counter, "So I had an idea for the theme..." Stephen says, doing jazz hands towards the sodas. Hosuh chuckles quietly, "Alright, I see, I see..." Color-coordinated. Hosuh's artist side is happy with this. "You like the choices?" "Mhm!" "Okay!"
Stephen grins wide and cracks open the bottles but Hosuh can see the exact moment an epiphany hit him in the face. "This is gonna be so messy, we need to this over the sink... And I almost forgot," Stephen opens a drawer and pulls out a little pack of colorful popsicle sticks, pulling out two purple and two white popsicle sticks before putting the pack away. "I'm gonna have the hold the molds over the sink right?" "Yeah!" "And then we put the popsicle stick in." "Yeah!" "How do we get it to stand up by the mold's ears in the freezer?" A second epiphany hits Stephen before he masks it, "You know what? We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Hold the mold over the sink," Hosuh can feel the despair emanating from him but does as he asks with a laugh, and Stephen carefully grabs and starts pouring the grape soda into the mold, with half of what he's pouring going down the drain, Hosuh laughs when Stephen exasperated sighs and puts the white popsicle stick into the mold, which just made it rise and spill out some more soda. The shake of Hosuh's shoulders from laughing makes it spill a little more.
"Now we cross that bridge. I'm leaving this to you." "Hey!" Stephen's probably trying not to take any responsibility if the soda spills everywhere, so to avoid any messes, Hosuh spills out a bit more of the soda into the sink so it isn't in the neck of the mold before carefully holding it with one hand to open the freezer. Thank god one side is clear so he can lean it against the freezer wall. Hosuh has a sigh of relief at the success before exclaiming "Three more to go!" and they do it all over again for the Sprite one. Hosuh gets an idea before they do the third one though, "What if we mixed both together? What would that taste like?" Stephen contemplates it for a second, "One way to find out! Third mold!" and to make a long story short, doing half grape soda and half sprite for the last two molds was messier because Stephen insisted it wouldn't taste as good as it could taste if you didn't shake it, so Hosuh humored him. Hosuh's hands are extremely sticky, but the icepops were now freezing, so it was a success.
