He looked at her with those piercing eyes.
If it's other people they might get intimated with how Yongguk is looking at Kore right now.
But since Kore was used to those eyes it has no effect on her.
She just looked back at her boss with bored eyes.
She sighed.
"What happened back there? You didn't even anticipate that maybe there's other gangs there to attack you?" Yongguk asked while raising his eyebrow.
Kore sighed again. "It's a bar. I'm not suppose to be on my guard 24/7. I need to live like a normal person." She explained.
Yongguk stand up and bang both his hands on the table making a loud boom.
Kore looked at him with creased forehead. She was taken aback for a sudden outburst.
"That is not what i thought you guys! What was i always tell you all? Don't ever let you guards down. Not even in your sleep. People like us doesn't have a normal life. There will always people that who wants us dead simply because we took lives. Have you forgotten that Kore or are you starting to let your emotions get in the way again." Yongguk are now looking into her eyes, if stare could kill Kore was long gone by now.
Kore closed her eyes when she hear him say the last word.
Again.
Yes, when she was still in training they were thought that having feelings and emotions will ruin their missions.
You can't kill if you will hesitate and if you felt guilty after because guilt will eat you alive.
Yongguk is right. She will not become who she is right now if she let her emotions get the best of her.
But that one mission where she had killed an innocent people really strike her straight to the heart.
And she will never forget that day when she cried because of that and Yongguk locked her up on the basement for a few days.
She's not allowed to get out of there until Yongguk said so or until Yongguk thinks that she completely abandoned her emotions.
And during that time Kore had to deal with herself between the real Kore versus the cold blooded killer Kore.
Before her life in Drachen she's the same being the tough girl but back then she shows her emotion specially to her baby brother and to the people who are important to her.
But when she became one of Drachen she had to forget about her feelings and emotions.
That's why after that mission Kore vowed to never let her emotions get in the way.
For others who are outside Drachen they thought that event define her as a heartless criminal but for her gang mates and specially Yongguk, that mission is a fail mission just because Kore showed sympathy and guilt.
Things that Yongguk will not tolerate.
"No. I didn't." Kore answered in a low but stern voice while hanging her head low.
"Why did you let this happened?" Yongguk said sternly.
Kore ball her hands into fist and close her eyes for a second before she opened it again to look at her boss's intense stare.
"Do you really think i have an idea that they will be there? I'm not a psychic to know if other gangs will be there. It's not like I'm on a mission to check the perimeters of the bar before going inside. How am i suppose to know?" Kore matched his boss's intense stare.
