Part 23: The Struggle To Escape

Chiaki placed a foot on the soft ooze, her foot sinking in slightly, she giggled and tugged his arm stepping forward again, both feet in mud up to her heels, Nagito stepped onto the river bed too, his feet also sinking slightly, "Come on baby" she said encouraging him, they walked forwards around 5 more steps, each time their feet being swallowed into the mud, Chiaki was now ankle deep and struggling to keep her feet moving "You ok?" he asked, she tugged her leg again giggling, her breathing getting heavier "Of cou... course, come... on" she said stepping forward again. She placed her foot down and she sank to her knees in the mud, she squeeled, panicing she tried to continue to walk forward, her other leg sinking to her knees. Nagito gasped "Oh my god baby dont move" he shouted, she froze "Ok, erm, erm dont panic" he said trying to keep calm, she continued to breath heavy, "Are you stuck?" he asked, still speechless she tried to walk, yanking and tugging at her legs moaning in panic as she did, the mud squished and squelched around her, pulling her in deeper as she struggled "Baby stop" he shouted again "Stop struggling your making it worse" "Help me Nagito i need to get out" she blurted rapidly, pulling at her legs again "Chiaki stop" he shouted with intent, she froze. "You have sunk to the top of your thighs now, stop struggling and i will help you get out", she was panting aggressively now, she wasn't as fit anymore, she could barely run 200m without nearly passing out. She began to cry softly aswell now "B... Ba... Baby" she sobbed "yeh?" he said carefully starting to walk towards her "I'm scared" she said collapsing back sitting in the mud "I know, i am going to try help" he was now stood behind her, he was sunk to his knees, she fell back into him completely breathless, crying gently "Baby?" "yeh?" he replied stoking her hair out her eyes "I f... e... el d... iz... z... y, a.... nd I... 'm sc... a... re... d" she said closing her eyes, tears falling down her cheeks "I know, its going to be ok, get your breath back then we will get you out" he stood there comforting her for nearly half an hour, she stood up in the mud and sunk to her hips when she did due to her weight pushing her down "Oh god damn it" she sobbed, the bottom of her pudgy belly was now sat ontop of the mud. "Ok, baby, I want you to turn around" she did sloshing the mud around, he continued "Ok, now slowly begin to lift up your legs, and i will also try pulling you out" she nodded, he placed his hands under her belly squishing it up. He began to slowly pull her up while she gradually lifted her legs, he could barely hold her up under her weight and also sunk to his hips, the mud was now back at her thighs, he began to groan slightly trying the best he could to continue to pull her free "Baby stop a second" he said letting her go, she sank back to her hips "No no no it was working" she said defeated, he could see her eyes beginning to panic again "Baby, don't he said" stroking back he hair, but it didn't help, she violently tugged her legs again her belly jiggled and jumped around with every movement, sinking to her belly button she continued moaning and panting pulling her legs aggressively, she had stopped sinking but with every tug got more and more stuck "Chiaki stop" he whispered, she did, completely breathless, and fell forward into him, her head on his chest wrapping her muddy hands around his waist, she softly began to cry again "I'm sorry Nagito, we never should have done this, I can't even move my legs anymore, I'm completely stuck, I'm so sorry baby" he placed his relatively clean hands, other than a few splodges, in her hair and gently began to stroke it back out her eyes, "Its ok, you couldn't possibly know this would happen, you just wanted a little adventure" he lent forward kissing her ontop of her head "What now then, I'm completely stuck" she said holding onto him tight "I don't know, I can't move either" he replied quietly she tightened her hug "I love you" "I love you too" he replied. Suddenly they heard something step into the mud...
