Chapter 6: Sunsets and Storms

Korra's POV

I'm stuck in the spirit world as a child. I'M STUCK IN THE SPIRIT WORLD AS A CHILD. How in the heck am I going to get out of this? Soon after wandering Iroh had found me and helped me find my way to some sort of dinner party with different spirits sitting in each chair. After for what seemed hours I helped a spirit return home and it and its siblings turned into a phoenix that was going to fly me to the spirit portals. And here I am.

"So you've returned, Raava. The Harmonic Convergence is coming soon, and this time I'm going to wipe you out for good." Vaatu says. "I think you've said that before, Vaatu, but I'm here to close the portal. You're not getting out." I say and walk to close the southern portal but Vaatu speaks once more. "You might want to reconsider, that is, If you want to save your friends." He said. I had hoped Jinora was safe but the thing that truly made my heart pound was "friends" plural meaning (Y/N) is here. I turn to see Jinora trapped in Unalaq's grasp and (Y/N) standing right by her side. Has she turned to Unalaq, what's happened to her? The more I try and feel the girl I love the more darkness I feel. But like Iroh reminded me there is always a little light. I run to save Jinora but a dark spirit and (Y/N) stand in my way. "What's happened to you (Y/N)?" I ask. "That's not my name." Her voice came off cold and emotionless. "What did you do to her?" I yell and Vaatu answers. "It is not the work of us it is the work of a shattered soul." He said and Unalaq continued. "If you want to save the both of them you'll open the other portal now" he starts to spirit bend Jinora. I ask them to stop and open the other portal. I ask them to let Jinora and (Y/N) go and the first thing Unalaq does is attack me and the dark spirits along with (Y/N) chase after me as I try to escape. (Y/N) catches up and I decided to attack her, only to knock her out and bring her home with me.

I take some water and bend it into ice like a sword and charge at her, our swords collide and stay in lock. "What did they do to you (Y/N)?" Her eyes were a dark purple instead of her (E/C) eyes. She backs away and goes to charge me again. "That's not my name!" She yells and breaks the ice sword. I dodge every attack and put her into a lock with her arms behind her back. "Yes it is. Your name is (Y/N) and I love you more than I thought I possibly could. You are light in every bit of darkness I have so please just wake up and see that I need you." I say but she breaks free and holds her head in pain. I go to help her but another spirit knocks me away as Jinora flies away and (Y/N) is still in pain. Unalaq comes towards me and leaves (Y/N) to suffer. He starts to use his spirit bending on me but right before he could start (Y/N) eyes were flickering from her normal eyes to white like an Avatar. It seemed to distract him until the spirit phoenix knocked him away. How is that possible? The phoenix grabbed me but left (Y/N). What has happened to her? And how can I save her? Vaatu calls after me but I can barely hear what he says until he says this, "Tula can't save you from my revenge, I will be freed." And I wake up. Tenzin scrambles to me as I awake and I apologize and we look to Jinora who is still in the spirit world. "That's not all, (Y/N) is different she tried to attack me. I don't know what's wrong with her. And Vaatu said another name. Tula." I said and Tenzin goes off to process.

(Timeskip)

(Y/N)'s POV

The pain was unbearable, it was like every part of my brain was attacking me. Why is this happening to me? "You're spiralling out of control, you need to fight it." Phantom says. "Let me leave, she's alive. What is stopping you?" I yell. "Tula won't be happy." She says. "Who the heck is Tula?" The place we are in is dark forest but I can imagine my body passed out on the ground. "Tula is with you, Tula is the cause of me and you. Tula is the power you need to become more than what you think you are." Phantom said. "If Tula is this almighty power then why haven't they shown themselves?" I yelled and a brighter light entered. A green spirit with the similar shape of Vaatu appeared in front of me. "Your material love will not help you if you wish to truly embody me." They say. "What kind of spirit are you?" I ask. "Long ago during the first Harmonic Convergence, Raava and Vaatu collided to the point they created another spirit right before Vaatu was imprisoned. That resulted in the existence of me. I am meant to be a true form of balance while the Avatar brings light to the world and Vaatu would bring darkness. You mustn't interfere with Raava and Vaatu until one comes out on top, I will give you your power however you must promise no matter what beautiful sunsets or horrible storms you face you will do whatever it takes to keep balance, whether through dark actions or light ones. "I promise." I say and Tula emerges with me. I wake up with Unalaq by my side and a voice in my head. "You mustn't let Vaatu or Unalaq know, I've emerged with you. They will try and stomp us out along with Raava." Tula says in my head. "My wonderful vessel, the portal is open soon Vaatu will be free and balance will be constant throughout the world." Unalaq says and I nod. Between sunsets and storms I will help stop Vaatu from even hurting Korra.
