So I was writing on my laptop and I didn't realize how short the chapter was actually going to be until I read it on my phone, so I'm going to try and make this chapter longer and a bit more exciting since I didn't completely love the second chapter.
Mary-Kate's P.O.V-
I had left the office after picking up mine and Tyler's schedules and headed to find my locker. I still had not seen any sign of Emily so I was more hoping than assuming she was at her own locker. I was checking both our schedules so I wasn't exactly looking where I was going so when I heard a high pitched squeal, I had looked up and there she was in all her bubbly personality, my crazy best friend running at me with full force. I had prepared for the impact and squeezed my eyes shut, ready for her to throw herself at me, but the impact never came.
"What the fuck? Do you mind? I am trying to make a dramatic scene here with my best friend while running down the hallway and into her arms." Who was Emily even talking to? I had decided now would be a good time to open my eyes and see who Emily was taking her anger out on, and hoped to stop it before it got worse. When I looked up I was faced with a very large back being constricted by a black shirt and I had a feeling I knew who it was. To correct my assumptions, I looked at the strangers arms, and low and behold, two arms full of tattoos. I had no idea why Gray Ryder was standing in front of me let alone blocking my best friend from getting to me and make her oh-so dramatic scene, but I did know that the longer he stood in front me, the more of a death wish he was making himself. I hadn't even realized Emily was still going on her tangent until she began to get louder. "Your'e not making this very easy and quite frankly I don't even know who you are, but I do know that your'e blocking my best friend from me, so I already don't like you. Now if you can just move that would be great."
I stepped out from behind Gray and threw myself at Emily, momentarily forgetting there was a tattooed bad boy watching our every move. "Emily!" "MK!" We both shrieked like little girls acting as if we hadn't seen each other in years when in reality I saw her on Saturday to help me organize my school stuff. I had let go of her and turned my attention to Gray to see why he hadn't gone to his locker or even a class yet. I had 10 minutes to catch up with Emily and still make it to my locker before the final bell rung, and the longer I stood here with Gray, the more time I wasted.
"Is there something I can help you with Gray?" It seemed as if he was in a daze and I had to snap my fingers a few times to get his attention. I was in a rush after all. He shook his head and cleared his throat before focusing his attention on me, "I just came to find you because you dropped this." He stretched his hand out to me and there he had my student I.D card in his hand. My cheeks began to flush red from the embarrassment that he had seen the picture that got taken over the summer. Before I cut my hair short and had gotten my braces taken off. I looked at his hand and quickly grabbed the card before stuffing it into my backpack, hoping that if I had stuffed it far down enough, it would never see the light of day again. I looked up at him while he smirked down at me most likely knowing that I was embarrassed of the picture. Anyone who saw the picture and then saw me now, would know I worked on giving myself a new makeover over summer and it was quite noticeable. I choked out a thanks still trying to calm my reddening cheeks and all he did was smirk at me and tell me, "No problem shortcake, you're lucky I'm the one who found it, don't want it ending up in the wrong hands now do we?" I just shook my head no and grabbed Emily's arm while walking away from him. Still feeling his eyes on my retreating figure.
"Okay who was that? Because he was hot as fuck and he seemed to be checking you out. Is he your play toy? Wow MK, didn't know you had it in you, I'm proud of you babe." I stopped walking and gave Emily a disgusted look, I was still a virgin for christs sake, let alone only had one boyfriend, but that was in 9th grade, and it didn't last longer than two weeks, since I caught him under the bleachers with another girl. "No Em, he's not my play toy, and he never will be. Yes I'm aware he's attractive, no he wasn't checking me out, and if he was then good. He's just looking at something he'll never have, and to answer your question of who he was. His name is Gray Ryder and I had encountered him in the office while grabbing mine and Tyler's schedules." I took a moment to catch my breath while letting go of Emily's arm, and then I added one more thing to show a sign that our conversation about Gray was over. "Plus I don't associate myself with guys like him, he just screams trouble, and my parents have warned me about guys like him. Getting with him is just setting myself up for heartbreak." Emily just nodded her head at me while giving me a small smirk like she knew something I didn't.
"Okay MK, I get it, no more talking about Gray Ryder."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish everyone else had gotten the memo that I didn't want to hear or even talk about Gray Ryder. It was already lunch and he had seemed to win the hearts of everyone in school, except the teachers. No surprise there honestly. So far, every guy wanted to be him and every girl wanted to be with him; well every girl besides me and Emily of course. Surprisingly she found a hatred towards him, since their first encounter was him blocking her way of getting to me. Unfortunately, when Emily and I met up with Ty and his friends, they seemed to have formed a fan club for Gray since all they could do was talk about him. I was getting annoyed at this point so when I went to sit down I slammed my tray down and rolled my eyes. Emily on the other hand was undressing JJ with her eyes, my brothers best friend, and annoying sidekick. I was almost positive that him and JJ were lovers in their past lives, because they spend every waking second together and if one showed up somewhere it was a guarantee the other was right behind him.
Although Emily would never admit it, she had a crush on JJ, but always slept around because she felt she wouldn't meet his standards. Even though I had told her over and over again that you didn't need to degrade yourself for a guy and he should like and love you for you, and not the person he wanted you to be.
As I sat down Ty and JJ both looked at me wide eyed wondering why I had sat down with an attitude. "What's gotten your panties in a twist baby sister?" I looked over at Ty and scoffed, "You're older by 15 minutes Ty, I'm hardly your baby sister." He put his arm around my shoulder while cooing, "You'll always be my baby sister as long as I'm alive." "Then let's hope you fall into a coma while you're asleep." I had grumbled out while pushing his arm off my shoulder. "You wound me MK." "That's my job as your younger twin sister." He looked at me with a mega watt smile and said, "Good to know you agree with me!" I had just rolled my eyes and looked away tired of entertaining my dim-witted twin brother.
JJ had decided to speak up and start a new conversation, and as soon as he opened his mouth, I had wished he closed it again. "Have you guys met Gray Ryder? He's so damn tall and his arms are full of tattoos, and he's so fucking buff, I'm gonna see if he wants to try out for the football team. You know he's in my Chemistry class?" It seemed like Gray had found himself a fan boy, and if I didn't know better, it seemed like JJ had a crush. "D-do you like him dear JJ?" Ty had asked while snickering. JJ's eyes widened and answered back almost defensively, "What no! I just think he'd make a great asset to the team, and his tattoos look badass that's all." We all knew Ty was just messing with him and we all believed JJ but the person behind me didn't think so.
"So you're telling me you're not attracted to me? Ouch man, and here I thought we could run off into the fucking sunset together." I knew that voice anywhere and the all so famous Gray Ryder was standing right behind me. "Aw don't be like that Gray, just say when, and I'm all yours." JJ had smirked and Gray let out a booming laugh, that had set off butterflies in my stomach. Don't ask me why because I couldn't tell you for the life of me why I wanted to listen to his laugh all day. Gray had taken up the spot next to me and told JJ, "I'm just fucking with you man, I don't swing that way, I prefer girls." As he said that last part, he looked over and smirked at me. "Well hello there shortcake, didn't see you there." Another blow to my height. I just rolled my eyes and looked away from him. It seemed that all I did today was roll my eyes, and if I kept rolling them I might find the will to not stab the 6 foot giant sitting next to me, who seemed to piss me off to no end. I didn't know why he took a sudden interest me nor do I know why he found it so funny to aggravate me, but I did know that this was going to be a long lunch.
Here is the 3rd chapter and I really hope this one makes up for the crappy 2nd chapter. I promise from now on the chapters will be longer and much more detailed. Hopefully soon I can come with a schedule on when. to upload chapters. I do hope you enjoy this one :)
