I jump up from my bed rushing into the bathroom, I rip the toilet lid open and started puking. This is the fifth time this week that this has happened.

Mom seems to think I have food poisoning and I agreed but I don't think this could last this long. Something's going on.
"Ky?" Janissa's voice calls into my room
"One second" I choke out heaving again
"Oh my god are you okay!?" She gasps
"I don't know what's wrong" I breathe out
"Maybe we should call your mom, she only just left I could have her--"
"No!" I shout
"Ky? You'e not—" She trails off
"What?" I ask confused
"You're not pregnant are you?" She whispers
I look at her like she was crazy

"Me? Pregnant? Are you crazy?" I laugh
"No but are you sure you're not?" She asks
"Who would I be pregnant by Jani?" I ask

"Seriously? You and Jason haven't been able to keep your hands off of each other since Halloween, even when you were hurting and feeling sick you still didn't want nothing but Jason McCann"
"Okay, but we always use protection plus I'm on the pill. Have been since my incident" I tell her
"Okay but condoms break, birth control fails. It happens all the time" She scoffs
"So what are you saying?" I snip
"I'm gonna go get some tests and you'll take them from there, we'll go to school" She shrugs
I start letting her words sink in and feel like I'm going to puke again
"What if I am?" I ask softly "Jason's going to hate me, he'll break up with me and call me a slut"
"Don't worry about that right now, let's just take the test, get you an appointment with a doctor then talk to Jason okay?"
I exhale heavily nodding, "Okay"

"Did you run there and back?" I joke grabbing the bag
"Actually I did" She breathes out
I look at her confused "Seriously Janissa? There's an entire garage full of cars and you run to the store?"
She pauses then we both laugh
"Look, I just wanted to get there and back" She defends
"Whatever!" I giggle walking into the bathroom
"You feel better?" She asks
I shake my head "My stomach is still churning and my body hurts"
"Ugh! I felt like that my first day of cheerleading" She groans
"That's what it reminds me of" I agree
I take out all of the tests plus the ginger ale Jani so kindly bought me.
"So how do I do this?" I ask her
"Don't look at me I've never had a scare" She shrugs grabbing a box "I got you two different kinds of tests"
"I see" I say reading the instructions "Alright let's do this"

"Has it been five minutes yet" Janissa asks
"Why do you seem excited while I'm over here shitting bricks?" I scold
She shrugs bouncing her leg. The timer on my phone goes off and we both jump up to running to the bathroom to see the results
"One three" I tell her she nods
"One...Two...Three!"
We both look at the sink our eyes going back and forth between the tests
"Oh my!" Janissa gasps
"Oh my god!" I gaps feeling my heart drop
This can not be happening right now!?
