I've been in this place for a year now and I must say it's been a lot better than I expected and that's all thanks to Jason McCann, he's my best friend and he's taught me a lot but things are changing around here now.
Jason's going into ninth grade this year while I'm only going into seventh and I know people haven't messed with me because they're scared of Jason but now, I'll be all alone so what's gonna happen?
I honestly can't believe how much my life has changed in the last year, I've gone from being beaten and raped almost every day to begin cared for and protected from anything bad. There are so many things I didn't know about the world, things I'd never seen and Jason has shown them all to me.
He's taught me about nature and photography, he told me when he grows up he wants to be a photographer and a lawyer. I'm not sure what I wanna be yet but I'm sure I'll figure it out soon.
Lately I've found myself dancing in my free time when Jase and I are just lounging around, he says I should be a dancer but I don't know. Guess we'll have to see.
I'm only eleven but anything is possible

The last year has been great, I've finally found the best friend--which is something I haven't had since my mom and dad died—I never thought I'd find. She's someone understands what I have been feeling in my heart from losing my parents and my little sister and I couldn't ask for anything better
I think my parents and god every day for bringing her to me.
She's truly a blessing, we do everything together once we're out of school. Sometimes it sucks that she's two years younger but then it's kind of okay because I get to teach her things. Things that her dad never let her do.
I still don't know what happened to make him go to jail but I know it was bad because she has nightmares. She never remembers them when she wakes up but I just hold her and tell her it's alright and that she's okay till she calms down and falls back asleep.
