Chapter Twelve

Beck's POV

I am very, very, very confused. Why would the world's best young female fighter have a picture of me and my friends behind her couch. I remember the day that photo was taken. We were in the back of my uncle's truck, having ice-pop's after going swimming. We told Trina to take a picture of us all. That was a year ago. (I make note of how Tori's abs aren't nearly that toned in the picture). But how did Shelby Marx get it? It's kind of creepy. Although I have to admit, Shelby up close? She was seriously pretty. Just my type.

"That's..." Andre begins. He doesn't finish, I don't think he can find the words. Tori looks like she's just seen a ghost. I reach out and squeeze her hand. She jumps. "Are you okay T?" I whisper. She blinks a couple times and half nods back. Jade takes the photo and tosses it on a chair. "Look, I'm not gonna lie that that's creepy" She says. "But we've got a movie to make and this is taking up my free time so HURRY UP" She ends with a shout. I sigh. Why did I date her again? We snap out of our trance and start to get ready. Tori and I head backstage to get into costume. The theatre has one big shared dressing room, with little screens for people to change behind. We grab our costumes for the first scene and duck behind a screen each. I quickly pull on my character Brian's white tuxedo, doing up the little bowtie. I step out and sit on one of the barstools.

"Hey Beck?" Tori calls out and I spin. But I'm lost for words. Her costume is absolutely beautiful. A long, floor length dress in a deep purple. The bodice fits her torso perfectly, the lack of straps leaving her shoulders bare. Little diamantes border the dress, then drip down onto the skirt, looking like little raindrops. The skirt has a slice along the edge, showing one of her legs. She's even already put on a pair of matching heels made of purple velvet. The dress fits her perfectly (Cat did a great job with this one). Tori looks at me shyly. "Stop it!" She laughs and I blink, still unable to speak. I find my words. "Wow, you look...amazing Tori, you're a knockout" I manage. She goes a deep shade of red. "Thanks, you look adorable in your tux" She smiles and I pull down on the cuffs of my jacket. "Anyway, could you um..." She holds up one of the main props, a silver necklace with a small key on the end. I realise what she's asking and jump up. "Oh, yeah sure"

I stand behind her and brush her hair to the side. It smells like cinnamon and is so perfectly curled into long waves. I unclasp the necklace and reach my arms over her head, draping it over her chest. She reaches up and touches the pendant as I do up the little clip on the chain. She turns on her heel and I realise how close we are. "Thanks" She says, her voice barely a whisper. My eyes scan over her face; from her honey gold eyes, down her ski-slope nose and perfectly sculpted cheekbones and her lips coated in a shiny gloss. This may sound weird, but I cannot wait to kiss her. Our little moment is interrupted by Andre yelling out "You guys ready?". Tori turns away and calls back a yes. She looks back to me. "Well, let's go make a movie" I say and she smiles.

Sinjin switches on the mic's in our costumes while Robbie adjusts the camera to shoot the first scene; where our characters are dancing at a party. A bunch of other kids volunteered to help be our extra's; they're also dressed in fancy attire. Andre leans against the wall; he plays the Mafia lord who me and Tori's character are trying to bust. We're detectives/future lovers. Tori and I take our place in the middle of the crowd. She reaches up and places a hand on my shoulder, I wrap mine around her waist, pulling her closer. Our other hands intertwine and she smiles at me. "Alright, stand by" Robbie says into his megaphone. Burf runs out with the clapboard. "Dance scene take one" he says, then runs back off. "Action" Jade screams. Classy music begins to play and we start to dance. Well, not really, more like moving back and forth. I admire the determined expression on Tori's face, she's completely in the acting zone. "Is he here?" I say in a hushed tone. Tori looks around the room, a scowl on her face. She subtly nods towards Andre. "Don't turn around, you'll blow our cover" She says quickly. "Why are you in such a bad mood?" I huff, rolling my shoulders back like the script instructs. Tori glares at me. "Why? If we wreck this case, I'll get demoted Brian and I've worked too hard to get up here, you will not blow this for me" I smirk. "Aw come on Becca, just relax, we're at a party!" I twirl her around and dip her downwards. She bites down on her lip as I lift her back up, holding in a smile. "Just focus on why we're here okay?" She chides and I nod. "Now, when Trev gives us the signal, I'm going to slip away, talk to Malba and see what I can..." She keeps talking but I'm not really listening, just watching her in awe. Tori won't admit it, but she's an incredible actress.

I snap back to reality just in time to nod. A shrugger who we've given the minor role of Trev to nods to Tori/Becca. She leans up and whispers in my ear. "Go have a look around, don't get you're a** caught" I wink at her as she slips out of my grasp right as the song ends. I look after her longingly and I can feel the camera zoom in my direction. Then I turn on my heel and walk away. "Cut!" Robbie shouts and the music stops. "Great job Tori and Beck" He says, looking at both of us. Tori shoots me an excited smile and I can't help but smile back. Robbie keeps talking about the next scene but I'm not really listening. I can't stop myself from staring at Tori. She looks absolutely stunning in that dress. She catches my eye and scrunches her face, waving me away dramatically. I laugh and avert my gaze just in time to see her laugh too. "Four scenes to go" I think to myself. Then we kiss.
