Nismat's POV
Crowds are generally not my place to live. Apart from the weddings of people I actually hold dear to my heart, i always make up excuses not to attend weddings. This isn't an exception either I just want to leave but then I will be called a runaway bride.
A week to the wedding the house is already brimming with visitors, relatives far and near. My friends arrived about four days to the wedding. With my friends being all giddy about everything.
Despite their persuasion into getting me to have events i declined and settled for a walima which Baba is going to invite great scholars on Saturday after the wedding fatiha and the bridal shower which includes my only ladies ;friends, course mates, cousins and sisters.Friday morning came with me being MIA and not having a grip of what is happening in my surroundings and event organizers(friends and cousins) running halter skelter putting things in order. The event was supposed to start by 4pm but they have been everywhere and nowhere when it's just 11am in the morning.
'Nismat!' Bilkisu squeal my name, "Please don't burst my eardrum, your shouting like it is the end of the world "I was pissed off.
'well you better keep that phone and be helpful around here'
I gave her an amazing look, 'like seriously, did I ask any of you to organize a party, you guys it was all your ideas right? then get it done and don't disturb my peace ' I replied without caring and rolling back to my position on the bed.
'This is ridiculous, what kind of a bride are you, your not interested in selecting your outfits, decor or anything, you just lie down all day, roll on your bed, scroll your phone all day and complain about everything and nothing' She was ranting and left the room in a rage.
Not interested in a wedding is a thing and not interested in your wedding is another thing. Well I wasn't interested because first of all I don't think I even want to get married and then there is the crowd and all that.*********************
The decorations was beyond my imagination,to say it was beautiful is an understatement. A combination of sky blue and royal blue; of course they all knew blue is my favorite color so they made it so classy. My gown was a whole Cinderella kind of ball gown in sky blue, while the bridesmaids were in royal blue matching the decor. A beautiful veil matching veil, silver jewelry, shoes and clutch to complete the look.
My makeup artist gave me a simple casual makeup after debating so much on a heavy makeup, in a nutshell I looked adorable.
" Billy" I smiled 'I guess I am beginning to like this whole thing, by thing I mean the event don't give me that look' I smiled
'I told you ,you're going to like it I mean your bestfriends set it for,you so it has got to be beautiful, now let's get the party started Woah ' she was shouting on top of her voice. The announcement of the wedding fatiha made my heart tremble I bow down in sujoodu shukur.I was cajoled by hayrat to perform to rakyat to thank Allah for this blessing. I know I wasn't happy or excited as most pride it was just the rush of anxiety ,I was nudge by Hayrah who was holding my phone "Your husband sent you a message, check it out juliet" she winked i opened the message and it reads " Through the storm, through the scorching sun, through the heavy rainfall when everything is all over, all i am happy about is to finally get home knowing home is you. When I walk through darkness craving for light, all i am happy about is that you are that Noor waiting for me to give light to my dark world and for that I will say Allhamdulilah Wifey happy married life to US" and that's it! I was in tears. Hayrat kept teasing me and teasing me.
