Ten's POV:

Two Weeks Ago, The Mourning Moon:

After Wooseok infused the weapon with Jeongin's energy, Mother took him and left. Wooseok called Dong Hae to us. As he lowered his protective shields and the suspension spells on Soo Jin-ah, he had Dong Hae ensure that Soo Jin-ah didn't actually die on us while he, Kookie, and I finished working on her.

Wooseok used a combination of the energy from the weapon and Kookie to rebalance Soo Jin-ah's energy. Once he started balancing her out, he blended my energy into her, to balance out my powers that she'd had growing within her since the twins had bonded us what seemed like years ago. I noticed that as Wooseok blended the three energies into hers carefully, she actually got stronger. Color was returning to her, and some of the darkness in her wings was retreating, though not all of it.

It seemed like forever, but I hadn't realized that Dong Hae had left and Soo Jin-ah was back in a safe place with us. Suddenly, she started breathing on her own, and that was when I realized Dong Hae wasn't there any longer. Still, she didn't wake up.

"Why won't she wake up?" Kookie asked before I could.

"She suffered a severe trauma before I put her into the suspension spells. She may be physically healed, but her mind may not be healed enough to wake yet. Give her time. She was tortured for weeks at the hands of Jimin, Top, and their friends. She's been under the time suspension spells since the day she was gotten away from them. She'll come around. She's breathing on her own. That's a very good sign," Wooseok explained.

I took Soo Jin home with me after the we'd done the spells on her. One of my brothers was always with her if I couldn't be, so I knew she'd be safe. Because of their twin bond, on Dongju and Dongmyeong's advice, I allowed Kookie to stay at my place, hoping it would help Soo Jin-ah wake up sooner. Other than that, I'd let Chang Bin, Tae Yong, and his guys visit. I would've let the princes visit, but they weren't allowed to leave Elysias at the moment. After all, if Soo Jin didn't wake up within two weeks, Baekho would be crowned King.

"How is she?" Kookie asked me when I got up in the afternoon, coming out of my room that I shared with Soo Jin.

"She's getting stronger. I can almost feel her thoughts," I told him. "It's like they're just out of reach. I think that's a sign she's getting closer to waking."

"Are you sure that's not wishful thinking?" he asked.

"No," I told him. "I know you only found out Soo Jin was your twin and that you were also a missing royal two weeks ago, but I've been looking after Soo Jin since she was seven years old. In a week, you'll both turn nineteen. Three years ago, I was helping her recover from having her wings slashed on her birthday. My friend and I not only healed, but repaired them so they were good as new. I know the only Soo Jin you've ever seen has been in a weakened state from iron and drugs, but your twin sister is much stronger than you realize."

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Until the beginning of the school year, she'd never cried once in her life. Even with the fact that there were attempts on her life every few months, she was constantly moved around for her safety, Soo Jin-ah never cried until the night Jeongin was kidnapped and she was put in a position where she had to choose her life or his. When we got them both to safety she went into shock and ultimately cried herself to sleep. It was the first time since she was an infant that she'd cried. She's a very strong individual in every way you can imagine. She faced my father and still refused to give him what he wanted, even with all the torture she was enduring."

"Why didn't he just force her to do as he wanted?"

"If he wanted her power, he couldn't. It's a clause against us gods stealing the power and birthrights of mortal supernaturals," I told him. "She could be tricked, but not forced."
