Lucas' POV:

No matter what, every time I tried to track the energy of the god Soo Jin and I were looking for, I wound up by where Day6 was training for the day. The problem was, I still couldn't pinpoint which of them the energy was radiating off of. It was there, and I could follow it to the group of soldiers, but it was too guarded for me to get more specific than that. The situation was stressing me out because I know that, even though Soo Jin never said anything, she wanted this dealt with preferably before the war was back at the borders of Elysias.

"Why can't I pin the energy down anymore than I have?" I asked myself out loud.

"Because the god you're tracking was hidden in the body whose soul he's trying to destroy by Top, Lucas," her voice came from behind me.

I turned around and Yong, the mysterious goddess who I spoke to briefly a few days prior was standing there looking at me.

"Do you enjoy just sneaking up on everyone?" I asked her, a smirk appearing on my face.

"It's not my fault if people don't realize I've appeared, she retorted.

"Are you going to tell me anything else about the god I'm tracking or the god he's trying to kill?" I asked. "Because I really would like to be able to help Soo Jin ensure the safety of the brother she only recently found."

"You're young. You're probably also impulsive, Lucas. But this is way above what you can handle. It's why I won't tell you any more than I already have. Soo Jin, she's powerful, I've learned that much since our last discussion, but she's been through enough cruelty to last a few lifetimes. As an older goddess with many talents that most people don't know yet, it would be easier for me to just handle this problem while Soo Jin, Ten, and the rest of you focus on the battles that are coming. Besides, this is a personal matter for me. Yeon Suk chose the vessel he's in knowing who was meant to incarnate. I can guarantee that."

"Why are you so hell-bent on dealing with getting Yeon Suk out of that body?" I asked her.

"Because he's pushed me one time too far and the god who is meant to be incarnated in that body was my best friend. I had to make him go into hiding before I left all that time ago to protect him from Yeon Suk. I'm not about to let Yeon Suk destroy him now any more than I was willing to back then."

"How is the trap you're setting for him?"

"I've finished it," Yong replied, surprising me. "Now, I just need to find the right time to spring it. If I'm not careful, he might just slip away and take a new vessel to complete what his father ordered him to do. If that happens, I doubt we'll find the new vessel in time."

"What needs to happen for you to spring the trap on him?"

"I need to lure him away from the rest of Day6, for one. Then I need to get him as far away from the battlegrounds in Elysias. He revels in the energy of chaos, strife, and pain. I can't risk him trying to absorb energy from the battlefields and taking the chance he might absorb the spirits of any who are still wandering instead of having gone to the underworld. It will change the power I know he has to include power I wouldn't have time to account for."

"When are you going to try to do this?"

"At the first clear opportunity I can get with him, Lucas. I'm not delaying for any other reason than trying to keep as many people safe from the confrontation between he and I. As soon as I find a way to lure him away, I'll spring the trap and stop him from destroying my friend and using his vessel to go after the Prince."

"What if someone helped you lure him out of here?"

"How?" she asked me.

"He's desperate to get his hands on Kookie, right?" I asked and she nodded. "So, what if someone from NCT took Kookie away from the palace, under the pretenses of him needing to see more of the kingdom he was born royal to. Could that work?"
