A flash of lightning illuminated the turbid river in the gathering twilight. I rubbed my palm over the windshield glass one more time to clear the fog and condensation so that I could have a better view.
I switched off the music system. The deletion of the music made me aware of the powerful purr of my car's engine and the squeak and click of the car wipers swinging back and forth across the windshield of my car, trying desperately to clear the raindrops which were falling in a torrent.
The patter of the incessant raindrops on the top of my car roof were suddenly drowned out by the loud crashing clap of thunder which made the tiny hair on my nape stand on end.
I licked my dry lips and in that moment decided, come what may I was going to cross the bridge over the flooded river.
I switched on the fog lights and switched the headlights to high beam. As the swath of light cut through the growing darkness it illuminated the dark furious swirls of muddy water slamming over the slight guardrails of the small bridge to flow across the road and back into the river over the guardrails on the other side.
Just then I saw a log bump into the guardrail and then a big wave made the log almost jump across the road just to be consumed in the murky depths of the river on the other side.
An electrical charge went up and down my spine, for a moment making me go numb. I gunned the engine and slammed my foot on the accelerator. The car jumped forward and plunged into the water flooding the bridge.
A moment later I felt the engine sputter and the car heave dangerously in the powerful current of the flood. Immediately I shifted the gear into reverse and once again footing the accelerator backed the car out of the water. Just as the nose of the car cleared the water the engine sputtered once more and then there was a deafening silence as the engine died.
I tried the starter again. But there was nothing. Not even a splutter. After a few attempts I gave up. Wondering what I was going to do here at the back of beyond. I decided to check under the hood. I pressed the button to open the hood. But nothing happened. I guess that too was stuck for some reason.
I got out of the car and pulled the hood of my grey parka over my head. I had tried opening the boot of the car. But maybe the flood water had jammed that locking mechanism too. Finally I remembered the wrench under the car seat. I took it out but it was too large to be of any use to pry open the hood or the boot.
Another flash of lighting had me cowering against the car.
I dived inside the car to grab my phone, just to realize the battery was dead. And now without the car engine running there was no way I was going to be able to get the phone charged and working.
I was now feeling a little desperate and on edge. Unable to sit in one place I got out of the car and looked around. It was pitch dark and the rain drenched trees caste eerie shadows. A little way up the road I suddenly saw a faint glow of light. I decided to take a closer look. Maybe it was a house and someone was actually staying there in the middle of nowhere.
Just as I drew closer there was another blinding flash of lightening. In that momentary flash I saw the outline of the 2 story house set a few paces away from the road, surrounded by tall trees. It looked old and mysterious.
There was a wrap-around veranda with a few steps leading up to the main door. Hanging from a long wire from the ceiling was a naked yellow bulb and for some reason it looked extremely inviting.
I made my way up the steps and knocked on the door with my fists a couple of times as I couldn't locate the bell.
A long moment later the door flew open. Standing framed in the doorway was a young male. He had narrow almond eyes and sharp Asian features. His hair fell across his forehead in a stunning disarray. His dark blue shirt looked like he had put it on in a hurry and had managed to button up only 1 button.
As the wind ruffled the loose tails of his shirt I got a glimpse of a perfect set of well contoured abs, before my eyes fell to the well worn blue jeans which were riding low on his hips. They fit him snugly. Too snugly for my comfort as my eyes fell too the bulge at his crotch. He was loaded no doubt.
I reared in my wayward thoughts as my eyes caught a flash of light. In that instant I saw the blade of the chopping knife he was wielding in his one hand. A moment later the lights went out and we were plunged into darkness.
Had I just landed myself in some horror movie!!!

I thrive on loneliness. I have been living alone for quite sometime now. Alone in this cold stone house which is more than twice my age.
But there is something about the cold seeping in through every pore of my body that makes me feel alive. Which makes me think and lets me dream. Lets me live my fantasies.
There are no other humans living in a 10 mile radius of my property. And I prefer it that way. It helps me do my work in peace. Without interruptions. Without censors.
But today I am taking a break. Well I have been taking a break for the past 3 days to be precise. Afterall I might like the cold and I even enjoy the drenching rain. But after this constant downpour for these past couple of weeks I am feeling a little bored with it.
I have decided to indulge myself a little today and make myself a hearty meal. If I can't satiate my other hunger I might as well give satiating my stomach hunger a try.
I don't really follow recipes. I just love to toss whatever is at hand in a pot and let it simmer, till all the flavours mix and combine. And then have it with a bowl of rice. Ofcourse there should be a portion of meat. And today's special is pork.
There is something so satisfying in slicing portions of meat. Something so primal. Something that panders to my carnal hunger.
Mingling with the gamey smell of the meat is the fragrant smell of the broth which has been bubbling and boiling cheerily on the old stove that my grandma used to cook on.
The little bubbling sound of the soup is keeping score with the pattering of raindrops falling on the tin roof of the small shed just outside the back kitchen door, making me whistle to the tune.
Another crash of thunder makes me grin. I just love the whip crack and drum roll, rumble of thunder.
Did I just hear a knock on the door? Yes, there it was again.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
As I walk from the brightly lit kitchen through the dark passage that leads to the dimly lit living room, I pickup the shirt I discarded earlier and slip it on.
I wonder who it could be. Couldn't be Mrs. Jane who lives in the nearby village and comes in twice a week to clean the house.
Who would be crazy enough to be out on these lonely roads at this time of the night and in this weather, I wonder?
Maybe it's a lone traveler. I hope it is a lone traveler.
My brain is now floating towards the fantasy that I had day dreamed off just a few hours back while I had been lying in my bed jerking myself off.
The mini flashback sent a thrill down my spine and blood rushing to my pelvis.
The moment I pulled open the door I felt the adrenaline kick in.
Standing on the top step of my veranda was one of the finest male specimens that I have ever seen.
In one word he was handsome. Even from under the hood of the parka that he was wearing it was easy to make out the straight nose and a hard flat mouth.
His eyes were beautiful. Dark and mysterious. I saw him check me out. Those eyes lingering on my package sent a bolt of heat coursing through my blood. I shifted slightly so that I could show of a little of what I have.
Just then my eyes fell on the wrench he was wielding in his one hand. A moment later the lights went out and we were plunged into darkness.
Had I just landed myself in some horror movie!!!
