CHAPTER FOUR
Mother’s Love
Tracy stood in a spacious corridor, gazing long, appearing more frustrated. She was on one of the floors of the abandoned building .she was twitching her eyes and trying to get a better look at what appeared to be moving shadow, hoping it would show itself. “I know who you are,” she said, staring at what appeared to be a shadow of the mystery Santa. Her investigation into the abductions of her daughter Chloe, and Mother Kris; had brought her to understand that it was the same person who was responsible for all the murders and abduction of all the missing children in Marina. The impersonator wore wearing a Santa red and white gown, with a hat that never left his head, making his face difficult to recognize. Taking steps towards the shadow, she knew it was lurking there. It became wild as she approached, Like glass flickering in the light.
At times, things appeared blurry. She began feeling the scent of death in this abandoned building with thick black smoke on the walls. The shadow’s motion was still and then at times jerky. It was seriously strange. She wondered why this Santa impersonator was abducting and killing innocent people. It was obvious to her that if the mystery Santa was a normal human being, he had a reason as to why he was only abducting, and killing during the Christmas season. But now she even wondered whether he was a human. Of course, since Chloe and her Granny had gone missing, she had heard enough scary stories about the mystery Santa from Andre, and had also heard zero success stories of any possible survivors. She felt more concerned and worried for Chloe and Kris because she knew they were both still in the hands of this impersonator. She had fear, but it was not enough to stop her from finding her daughter and old Kris. She had not seen them ever since they were abducted from her apartment, But she had a wild suspicion that both were held here. The Mystery Santa, as everyone in the Marina called him, without doubt, would kill them.
She had no idea of the kind of person or entity she was confronting, since everyone was describing him differently, according to their experiences. All they knew was that he was responsible for all the missing children and women. This made her certain that he had taken Chloe and Kris. She had watched the news on the TV when the Chief of the Police had mentioned his concern over the increase in the number of missing children and women of all ages. The police were stuck, with little no evidence, and had no inkling as to who was master-minding those inhumane murders. Though the police always found a note on the corpse with the words, “DEATH IS INNEVITABLE,” it gave them no clue whatsoever.
Now that she had devoted herself to finding Chloe and Kris and had the sole aim to rescue them from the hands of this entity, vampire, alien-whatever it was, she came to realize that the mystery Santa seemed to be far beyond the scope of the police. She had decided to risk and search for her daughter herself however deadly it was. Now she was here, risking her life in this spooky abandoned building which everyone suspected of accommodating this mighty Santa. This place reminded her of a woman and her two children who had been killed brutally. Their bodies had been found naked in the Dubailand Creek. The police had failed to identify who the killer was. She was sure there were no vampires or predators in the Marina, but with each death adding up, it made one to think so.
She had now studied and followed every murder and abduction in town, thinking this would help her to discover Chloe, as well as Kris. Her investigations led her to this abandoned building along with the desire to find her child; she didn’t know what might be happening to Chloe at the moment. She had begged Andre her ex-husband to join her on this, but so far she hadn’t eyed him. Strolling impatiently, she had a feeling that Chloe and Kris might be inside here, with a high possibility that they may still be alive. The building looked like it had been closed off to the public by the police for quite some years, there were safety wires everywhere.
