I yawned stretching on my couch. I felt buzzed, I had drank the wine I had grabbed on the way but it didn't calm my nerves. I felt empty and nervous and lonely but I couldn't figure out why. Something had changed me at the party and I hadn't even stayed that long. Maybe its because I hadn't seen my pack members in awhile. Whatever, it didn't matter, all I knew was I was to sober to stand this feeling. I grabbed my coat and walked out locking my door once again. I headed down town to a karaoke bar. It was load and would be very distracting while I went in to get a drink. I sat down at the bar, staring at the bartender as he made his way over to me. He smiled "what can I get you?" I smiled "Not even gonna ask for an ID?" He chuckles "Don't need to, you look miserable and I need the money." I sighed i wasn't old enough to drink I was only 18. "I'll have a red death." He nodded and went to work. I turned and watched the people get up and sing songs slurring half of the words when I got my drink. Hours pass and I find im very drunk. A few people must have picked up that im hear alone because the next thing I know is that their buying me lots of drinks. My mind feels fuzzy and I can't walk very well or concentrate on anything but I'm smart enough not to accept the drinks. One of the men, tall with black hair offers to drive me home. I sigh "sorry sir but I'll walk home thank you." I say stumbling " lets us walk you home then." I feel one of them grab my arm and tug. I panic, I feel scared. I don't know why because I'm used to these situations and I tend to handle them pretty well but something inside me tells me I will be protected by someone else. That im meant to be protected by someone else. I hiss at the painful strength of the man. "Hey, no worries I'll take her home." A girl with white hair and green eyes wraps her arm around my shoulders. She's buff-ish and very tall. The men look at each other. "How bout we take you both home." She smiles but there's something intense in her eyes. "Naw were good but thanks." She says almost with a growl. The bartender looks over at the men. "Is there a problem over there." He asks looking at them suspiciously. The men let go of my arm and turn to him. "No, everything's fine. We'll take another round please." The men turn around as though none of this had just happened. I feel dizzy, like I'm going to fall. The girl leads me out of the bar and into a black pick up truck. I feel like I can trust her. "What were you doing at a bar alone. Do you know what the Alpha would say if one of his pack members had gotten hurt." She growls at me. I look at her surprised. "How did you..." i panicked. "Relax im not a stalker. Your tattoo is showing." She says looking out to the road before pulling a hand off the steering wheel to reveal the same tattoo on her wrist. I groaned, great a pack member. But my head hurt to much to ask questions. "God, why do I feel so empty." I groaned leaning against the window. "Probably because your away from your mate." I sigh "I don't have a mate." She looks over at me. "Maybe that's why." She says after a moment of silence. I close my eyes passing out in the car from intoxication.
I groan blocking the sun from my eyes. Im in a big bed, in a big room. A very formal room shall I say. It reminds me of a room from a castle in England. I swing my legs over the side of the bed getting ready to get up. I'm still in my clothes from yesterday. I probably look like a mess. Were the hell am I anyway? I ask myself. I remember men and then a girl with white hair. Everything else is a blur. I look around giving up on the thought after a while. On the vanity there is a pair of clothes. Probably for her. I get up, picking up the clothes and examin them. There's a white shirt and blue jean shorts with black ankle socks. I sigh changing quickly. I fold my clothes getting ready to make the bed when the door opens and someone tackles me. I sees purple curls. Summer. I push her off of me. She's smiling excitedly. I feel myself smiling back at her "can you please stop tackling me." She laughs "sorry its just i missed you so much." She says. "Were am I, and why are you here?" I ask picking up the pillow that fell in the floor. "Oh. Right! My mate brought you here last night and your at my house." She says excitedly. I stop. "Your Mate? Your house?" She grins. "Yeah I met her last night at the party and she said she was going to a bar and then getting her stuff so she could move in. Although she never got her stuff, just you. Said she had to pull you from some creeps. Why were you at a bar by yourself anyway?" She asks her excitement turning to concern. I look at her "I felt empty and I needed a drink." I say honestly. I knew I could tell her anything, I could trust her. She rolls her eyes. "I'll let it slide this time but next time bring someone with you." I laugh giving her a small shove. "What are you now, my mom?" I joke she cracks a smile shoving me back. She helps me make the bed and tells me that im wearing her clothes so its ok if I mess them up which confuses me because I don't see anything that could ruin them. But I come to a conclusion that it's just to ease my mind incase an accident happens, guess she's clumsy enough to warn me about it. We walk into the hall and my jaw drops. "This is NOT your house." I say looking around. The halls are huge and long and when I look out the window at the end of the hall, I can tell we are up high, which means there is multiple levels to this house. She laughs "Yeah, I know right! After dad died and Jack inherited everything we found out he actually owned a huge mansion he was keeping for Jack later when he became alpha. All because he wanted Jack to feel as though he had to work for things. He always did say a spoiled alpha is a bad alpha." I'm amazed. When I was a kid they lived in a very small house with a very small backyard. This was amazing. She showed me around even introducing me to her mate Vivienne or Vivi as she asked to be called. They looked in love even though they have only known each other for a night. It confused me but Vivi seemed nice enough. "Thanks for saving me last night." I said embarrassed knowing I was probably a lot to handle. "Naw its good, Jack did the hard part anyway by carrying you in." I stopped, thinking about him being nice enough to carry me in. I couldn't picture it. "Anyway, Sarah's cooked breakfast so we should probably go eat." I looked up, before I could ask, summer spoke up "Sarah works here, she cleans and cooks and everything else but don't worry we treat her well." I nod. Ok then. I follow them down three flights of stairs to a huge dining room on the ground floor where Jack is already at eating a slice of toast and leaning on the table. There is food on the table, four plates to be exact. Summer grabs a seat and drags it beside another chair and then proceeds to grab one more putting it beside the other two. Vivi grabs three of the plates and places one infront of each chair. I stare confused. Vivi sits in one chair and summer sits in the middle patting the empty seat beside her. I realize she wants me to sit beside her so I do. Jack turns and looks at summer through half lidded eyes. "What did I say about rearranging furniture?" Summer sticks her tongue out at her brother before digging in. "Your lucky you my sister." He says flicking a blueberry at her. She growls at him, and notices he seems to be leaving. "Where are you going." She asks watching him "aren't you noisy. I'm going out to the field today for training. And a game of soccer." He says walking past her. "She drops her fork on her plate. "Hey, soccer! That sounds fun! Can I come to?" He turns to her raising an eyebrow. "We won't go easy on you." She looks excited. "I don't need you to be easy on me, I'll kick ya'lls butts." She sounds like a proud child. He nods "alright then." She pumps her fist in the air. Before turning to me and vivi "you guys should come to, it'll be fun." Vivi grins and nods but I'm not so sure. "I really don't think I should, I've invaded enough." I say she frowns "awe come on ally, please." She begs i look at her and Jack smiles a mischievous smile "you'll end up living here anyway, mate." He emphasizes the last part making my heart stop. Summer stops to looking at both of us. There's tension in the air. I panic, he said mate. I can't have a mate. "Your not funny." I turn to him with an angry expression. He laughs dryly "you think I'm joking." I go silent looking at him. His hands are in his pockets and his curly hair is almost in his face. "Don't tell me you couldn't tell when you walked in the room. Or when you saw me." He walks closer. Summer seems nervous. "Dont you feel less empty." He says hissing. Summer stands infront of her brother "thats enough jack." I can see her fangs he stares at me before looking at his sister his smile staying on his face. Vivi looks uncomfortable. "Come if you want to, or don't. I don't care." He walks off leaving me to let out a breath i didn't know i was holding in. Summer turns to me worry on her face. "Your his mate!? How? You two are like polar opposites. And how did you not know?" She asks. I look up. "Summer, I'd like to play the game." Theres a challenging look in my eyes. She groans "After what just happened you want to play soccer?" I nod. We clean up, all three of us walking outside into the hot day talking on the way. "You know, he's nice when you get to know him. He's just testing you. He's not the same as he was years ago." She says. I nod not really listening. We walk onto the field where other wolfs are. Jack turns looking surprised to see me but that only lasts for a second before he gives me a look which I find hard not to look away from but I keep eye contact. Hes trying to get me to submit to him but I haven't seen my pack in years, im different to. I'm stronger physically and mentally.
