Betty was still speechless, she knew that James was telling the truth it was very easy to read him, he was practically an open book. She just wasn't sure if she should forgive him. She knew it wasn't exactly like him to keep making the same mistake.

"I forgive you." James had a huge smile across his face, "But I'm not getting back together with you."

Although James was saddened by this he was happy that Betty had forgiven him, he hoped that in time he can mend the relationship they had once had. "That's cool. I'm gonna go tell my 'friend' to rescind his rumor." Betty gave him a thankful smile as he walked away.

Inez looked at the smile on Betty's face, "I don't like where this is going."

"Oh come on, nothings gonna happen all I did is forgive him."

Her friend sighed, "Look I don't want him to weasel his way back into your heart just to break it again." Inez looked Betty in the eye, "You are too good for him okay."

A few days later they had their potions class. Like usual Betty was extremely early, sitting alone at a table. Inez and James both saw the empty seat next to Betty at the same time, looked at each other and ran to the seat. Inez sat first at the seat with a smile of triumph. As James walked away Inez stopped him and harshly whispered, "Just because she forgave you doesn't mean she wants to spend every minute with you. You guys aren't even dating and you're too clingy."

"Why are you being so mean?" James whined as he pulled his arm away.

Inez glared at him. "I'm not being mean I'm being protective."

"Like there's a difference." He grumbled as he walked to a different table.
