Mishti lay on the bed with Abir holding her hand and Kuhu sprinkling water on her face. Kunal stood beside with a worried face.

"Mishti?" Kuhu patted her cheek and Abir took a sigh of relief when she opened her eyes. He hugged her.

"Thank God you're okay." Kuhu said."But what had happened to you?"

Mishti looked at Kunal. He nodded his head in an assuring way. Both knew, finally the time has come.

"Kuhu, Abir." Kunal started. "I am sorry I didn't tell you anything but I was cuffed. I.."

"Kunal, be clear." Kuhu hoffed.

"Kuhu, I.. I.."

"Stop stammering, Mishti!" Abir said in a plain tone. "What is it?"

"I... Abir, I..." She couldn't complete her sentence.

"She has Cancer." Kunal filled in her blanks.

*flashback*

"I will not donate my blood." Mishti said in a stern voice.

Kunal and Abir looked at him shocked.

"Are you out of your mind Mishti?" Abir's anger knew no bound.

"Mishti, she is your sister..." Kunal's vision was blurred due to tears.
"Guys, I..."
"You what?" Abir asked, biting his teeth.
"You know, Abir... I am afraid of injection." Mishti said trying to control her tears.
"What?" Abir and Kunal exclaimed in unison.
Mishti could see anger and hatred in their eyes.
"Guys, I.."
"Shut up, Mishti." Abir yelled. "I so, hate you for this."
She couldn't tolerate and ran out of the hospital. Abir and Kunal followed her when the receptionist stopped Abir to sign some paper works and Kunal went behind Mishti.

"Mishti, Stop!"
She stopped hearing Kunal's determined tone. He came to her held her shoulder, turning her.

"You are not the Mishti we know. You are not selfish. You can die for your sister. Then what happened today? I am sure you are hiding something and your tears are a proof to it!" Kunal said wiping them.

Mishti broke down on her knees and cried her heart out. Kunal knelt down and came to her position.

"I am not selfish, Kunal." She said crying. "I cannot give blood to my sister to push her more towards death."

"What.. What do you mean?"

"I can't do this because I.."

"You, what?" he asked in a stern tone. "You what, Mishti?"

"I have blood cancer!"
Kunal got shocked to hear it.
"Mishti.. Mishti, relax!" he said as he tried to console her after controlling himself. "We are with you, me, Bhai, Kuhu.. We'll... "
"No! Promise me, you'll not tell Abir and Kuhu anything!"

*flashback ends*.

"She took promise not to tell you anything because she knew you won't be able to tolerate." Kunal finished.

Abir couldn't believe what Kunal had just said. His Mishti who was full of life, has cancer? Suddenly, it all fit together. The doctor's call. Her becoming worried when he asked about it. She accepting him all of a sudden. And lastly, her refusal to give Kuhu blood when she needed it the most. His entire world came crashing down on him. How easily had he said those three horrible words to her. I. Hate. You.

Kuhu now hated herself for hating her so much. She couldn't believe her sister was suffering so much and didn't share with her. Mishti has always been her spinal cord and when she needed her, she wasn't with her. She must have gone to her and asked her problem rather than searching for an opportunity to talk.
