Taehyung stirred from the bed upon hearing few knocks on the door. He groaned, tossing and turning as he tried to fight the stinging sensation on his head due to lack of sleep.
He heard few more knocks followed by Yeonjun's voice, polite as usual.
"Young master, are you finally awake?"
Taehyung could only groan in response as he hid under the comfort of his blanket.
"May I come in, young master?" Yeonjun asked to which Taehyung just groaned once more.
The servant took his response as a yes, slowly opening the door and revealing Taehyung looking like a cocoon.
"Young master. Physician Seo will be arriving soon to check the improvement in your health." Yeonjun informed, but Taehyung was just so out of it that he didn't respond at all.
"Young master..." Yeonjun tried once more but to no avail.
Taehyung pretended to be asleep but not for long when he heard someone speak.
"Let me handle this. Go ahead and prepare food for the young master."
The voice immediately made Taehyung peek out of the blanket and saw the ravenette now standing near his bed.
Yeonjun was astounded by his sudden reaction but didn't dare comment as he bowed his head to leave.
"If you'll excuse me, sir." Yeonjun bid his goodbye to do the task assigned to him, carefully closing the door behind and leaving the two alone.
As soon as the door was closed, Taehyung abruptly sat on the bed without breaking eye contact on the man standing tall near the edge of his bed.
"So you're not the type to run away and hide after doing something you shouldn't have." Taehyung started, wanting to avenge his lack of sleep last night because of this man who looked like he had a great sleep, in contrary to him.
He was waiting for the ravenette's rebuttal but nothing came. Instead, he turned and walked away as if talking to Taehyung is just a waste of time.
"If you don't want to get out of bed, then suit yourself."
The blatant rudeness made Taehyung's nose flare in annoyance. He grabbed a pillow and threw it on the ravenette, landing on the latter's back that made him stop on his tracks.
"I'm awed by how unaffected you are, while here I am unable to even sleep a wink." He murmured, eyes glued on his knight's back.
"Or maybe you're just too good at pretending and hiding your true emotions with that stoic facade of yours." He added, finally getting a reaction from Jungkook.
"Who do you think taught me that, Kim?" Jungkook uttered in distaste.
He turned to look at Taehyung, eyes full of scorn towards him.
Oh..
"Good at pretending and hiding, huh?" Jungkook smirked, voice laced with sarcasm as he shakes his head.
"You're one to talk, Kim." He uttered as he stared at Taehyung with indifference.
Taehyung rolled his eyes, unable to hide his annoyance anymore.
"Then just fucking tell me what I did to you." He said, exasperated.
"No matter how hard I try to remember...." He trailed off, almost saying the words he knows he shouldn't.
He sighed, looking down at his clasped hands.
How he wished he could remember even though it's impossible.
