Chapter 9

"Oh, that's right."

Jay hums as you turned to face him while the both of you walk.

The blonde is currently escorting you to your home and said that he'll just crash at Daniel's place and leave in the morning, since it's already pretty late.

"I'm sorry for holding your hand from time to time when we're not even that close yet.."

Jay just chuckles and pats your head with a smile on his face.

"I don't really mind. I was uncomfortable at first but soon got used to it, so it's fine."

He said which made you sigh in relief.

"Great. I just like holding hands because it's nice and warm to feel."

You informed with a smile while he listens.

"Daniel and I usually do it too, and of course also with some of my friends. But I only do that when I'm really happy."

You flashed him a smile once more, which he liked since he could keep picturing your smile inside your head anytime.

"And I'm just really happy that you came by and invited me today."

A genuine smile flashed at Jay's eyes that it made his heart skip a beat.

"Oh, we're here."

You skipped closer towards the entra of the building.

"Thanks for escorting me all the way here even though Dan's place is closer..which we just passed by a couple of minutes ago."

You said as you smiled sheepishly with a chuckle.

"I'm sure you're tired since we spent most of our time inside the arcade. Ha.ha.."

Jay chuckles and flashes you a smile.

"Well I'll get going now. See you soon, [Y/n]."

Before Jay could turn around and leave, you walked towards him and stand by the tip of your toes, surprising him as you pat his head with a big smile.

"Thank you for today again, Jay. You really made happy today."

He couldn't help but lean in to your touch and warmth, and also wanted...more.

"Be careful on your way home. Thanks again, bud."

Jay frowned slightly after you removed your hand, but nonetheless showed a smile soon.

"You also made my day,
[Y/n]. "

He said as he gently pats your head.

"Thanks as well, and good night."

You smiled and laughed softly.

"You keep patting my head. Do I look like some kind of a child to you Jay?"

The blonde chuckles as he turned his back and starts to walk away slowly.

"Well, you are small."

He comments with a laugh, making you deadpan an expression.

"You know, like a kid."

You groan as your brows furrowed.

"Oh, come on! Not you too Jay!"

You shouted while he starts to walk a little bit faster with his hands inside his pocket.

"You're also asking for a beating like Stephen, aren't you?! Come back here!"

Jay continues to laugh while walking away, along with a waving hand.

"I'll come back once you've cooled down!"
