NARUTO POV "I'm so tired guys..." (Y/N) said, as she was giving Himawari a piggyback ride. They started going back into the hotel to change and get dinner. They had played in the water and hung around the beach until the sun started setting. Boruto hadn't gone into the water but he was doing his stuff on the side, while building a massive sandcastle that (Y/N) later kicked down.
Hima had learned how to swim quickly and easily, which surprised all of us. She was racing older kids the entire day so she was feeling a little tired. (Y/N) had offered to give her a piggyback ride back to the hotel which she happily agreed to.
"Yeah, I guess." Boruto said, as (Y/N) turned around to him. "You're just salty because I knocked down that sandcastle." She walked inside to the hotel lobby and into the elevator along with me and Boruto who was currently fuming in the corner. "The day passed by so fast!" She exclaimed changing the topic as I nodded.
In almost a second we reached our floor and our rooms. "Hey, I can give Hima a shower." (Y/N) said, as I nodded while Boruto followed me into my room, as we watched the girls go into the other one to shower. As soon as I was alone with Boruto he asked me a question which almost gave me a heart attack.
"How do you feel about (Y/N)?" He asked curiously, as he started taking out his clothes from his suitcase. "(Y/N)?" I questioned as he nodded.
"She's a good shinobi, and has a lot of natural talent. Why?" I asked, trying to pry some sort of reason from my blonde son. "No reason, none at all." He said as I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Do you like her?" I asked as Boruto slightly winced. Caught him, I thought victoriously. "N-no, of course not." He scoffed, turning around to meet my face, "She's my best friend!"
"I know that, Boruto." I said while sweatdropping, "You're just really protective around her specifically." He rolled his eyes at my statement. "Especially around me." I murmured, "Mind telling me why?" I asked as he looked at me, narrowing his eyes.
"There's no reason at all, old man. Just be quiet and take a shower." He said, as I rolled my eyes. Where did I mess up with this kid? I thought as I grabbed my orange and white striped towel and walked into the bathroom, closing the door.
He's obviously hiding something from me... I thought as I felt the warm water hit my back and I groaned happily. I picked up the shampoo container and put a little bit on my hands and started massaging my scalp while thinking of what sort of thing, involving (Y/N) would he want to hide from me?
He could he hiding the fact that he already knows about it... How I feel about (Y/N). Nah, he's way too dumb for that, I thought exhaling in relief.
