It wasn't until an hour after they left their makeshift camp that problems started to arise. The trees only got thicker, making it hard for them to stay together. They moved slower and the air grew colder despite the sun beaming down on it.
Yoongi saw it again. It was fast,- and big. He was half convinced he was imagining it. Running past them in the distance. Stopping. Running back.
"Guys." He muttered, he was taking up the back. The three youngest sandwiched in the middle of him and the others. They all turned to him, and he nodded to where the last movement had been. "It's big. Careful."
Jimin's hand twitched next to his wand when he watched Hoseok draw his own. "Um,-... How big?" Despite him looking confident, the younger boy's voice shook.
"Away from the wand, Min." Joon warned. He and Jin moved apart, and Yoongi turned around. Forming a circle to inclose them. "You too Jungkook. I see you reaching."
"Bigger than us." He raised his wand. "Keep walking."
One of Jimin's hands grabbed onto Yoongi's jacket sleeve. "Erm, how much longer are we in the woods?"
"Two,- three days?"
"One more night at least, two at most." Namjoon flicked his wand nervously. The figure ran bye again. Jungkook grabbed hold of Tae and Jimin, Nyla and Sammy walked circles around their feet.
It was a centaur.
"Don't be hostile," Hoseok said quietly. "They won't always attack if we don't oppose a threat. Keep your wands at a low, don't be too tense."
"Be nice. These are their woods." Joon followed up. The creature ran past again, slower. Sleek black body of horse, buff build of a human. "He-"
This time another figure ran by. Brown, slimmer.
"They." Yoongi corrected,- a sniffle sounded from one of them.
"Can't they talk?" Jimin's grip tightened on Yoongi's jacket, pulling himself closer. "Or,-or at least understand us?"
"Stay close to Jungkook." Yoongi said, "Yes, they should be able to."
"What happened to stick with your hyung when in danger," Jungkook grumbled, but had no problem pulling Taehyung closer to him.
"Your hyungs are surrounding you, dipshit, but you're the biggest of you three. We all stay together." Jin Snapped. Another horse ran by. Closer.
"Me no likey," Jimin sang quietly, pulling his hands from Yoongi to do some weird little dance. "No likey, likey, likey-"
"Jimin, this is not a time for Twice!" Jungkook grumbled, grabbing the boy by the wrist and pulling him closer to Tae.
"Twice?" A voice asked,- a flash of fur. Suddenly three large beasts towered over them, close to Yoongi. His wand grew heavy in his hand and the urge to shout a spell and run over took him, yet instead he slipped it into his pocket. Jimin whimpered behind him, but everyone's gaze rested on the small pack. They were big, beautiful. Toned in ways that Yoongi could never imagine, " Young Wizards? Here?" The black one spoke. He was the biggest of the three. The other two flanking him were slightly smaller. The brown one to his left and a white one to his right.
"We're passing through," Hoseok said rather calmly. "We will not bother any of your things- just passing as travelers."
"Shouldn't you be in school. Has Hogwarts fallen again?" The brown one asks.
