I hadn't been born in London. In fact, I'd spent the first twenty-one years of my life in the small English town of Crawley. Quite recently, however, myself and my twin sister, Evie, had taken it upon ourselves to liberate London from Templar rule.
My sister and I hadn't had a "normal" childhood. We'd grown up learning to become master assassins, liker our parents Ethan and Cecily had been. Cecily had died giving birth to us, and less than a year ago, Ethan died too.
My sister and I were young, and we were eager to prove ourselves. The Templar Order, the sole enemies of the Assassin Brotherhood, had controlled all of London for hundreds of years. Evie and I were certain that we'd be the ones to change that.
Upon our arrival in London, we met up with an assassin that was in charge of monitoring or watching over the city. Henry Green. Evie listened to everything he said, about being careful with how we chose to liberate London. The only thing Henry mentioned that I was even vaguely interested in, was a vicious street gang called the Blighters, that plagued London's streets.
I actually started a gang of my own, which I deemed the Rooks, and succeeded in claiming most of London as assassin territory once more. There was a single area that I hadn't yet secured, and despite Evie's discouragement from my unique solution, I knew that I'd prevail sooner or later.
The lead Templar in London was Crawford Starrick. He controlled everything, the streets, the water, the city itself. Evie was convinced he knew the location of a Piece of Eden, some artifact that I had no interest in. While I was building my Rooks, Evie was searching for the artifact.
