"Oi, dickheads!"

The group of guards at the front of the castle were surprised by a voice from ahead. A figure appeared from the darkness, cloak swirling behind them on a dead wind. The guards readied their weapons. This did nothing to stop the figure. They kept walking until they appeared in the torchlight. Glowing violet eyes and auburn-gold hair appeared from under the dark hood.

"You have five seconds to answer my question." Amneris snapped her fingers and hefted a large gun - she didn't care what type at this point, only that it was powerful - which had appeared in her hands. She aimed it at the guards. "Where the fuck is my daughter?"

The guards gave each other what could only be described as 'oh shit' looks. Even so, they came to a silent conclusion. They were not going to let this woman into the castle. They fired their weapons. The woman didn't so much as flinch as bullets punctured her body. They stopped firing, out of ammunition. The woman stood where she had, bullet holes covering her body. The guards watched in a mix of awe and fear as they healed immediately.

The woman's eyes glowed. "That was a little more than five seconds, wasn't it." She looked down at her gun. "And you chose to shoot me instead of answer my question." Her gaze returned to the guards. "See, normally I'd give you another chance, but I'm kind of in a hurry and it's clear none of you want to help me."

Amneris flicked off the safety and pulled the trigger. Her weapon unleashed a storm of bullets, ripping through everything and cracking the ancient stone of the castle. She roared over the noise, walking forward. More guards appeared to stop the intruder. Amneris used her power to give the gun continuous ammo. As those before her found themselves empty, she let out a stream of continuous fire.

A hand appeared on her shoulder. "I think you got them all," Colt said.

Amneris stopped firing. She stood in place, panting. She tossed the gun to the side, turning to face the men behind her. "Normally I'd come up with a pun right now, but this crowd is too dead." Colt raised a hand to his head as Jay sighed loudly. "Too much?"

"Way too much," Jay said.

"You guys are no fun." Amneris pulled back her hood. "They've probably figured out its me by now," she explained. "Shall we continue?"

* * * * * * * *

Evidently, the walls of the castle, while certainly old, were still very soundproof. Only the guards outside had heard the gunfire and they were all dead. The ones inside had no idea. It became painfully obvious after the three entered the building. Only a single guard was in the first chamber, though others lurked nearby.

"Excuse me!" Amneris called. "Hello! Could you maybe help us?" The guard was too surprised at the intruders to react. "See, I'm looking for my daughter," Amneris continued. "Any idea where she might be?"

"Daughter?"

"Yeah. About yea high, red hair, purple eyes, dark skin, silver wings. Hard to miss when she's pissed-"

Bang!

Amneris sent the sniper on the level above an irritated look. "I'm trying to talk. Do you mind?" She turned back to the guard who stood in place, dumbfounded. "So, is that a yes or no on seeing here?"

"You were shot . . . in the head," the guard said slowly.

"Yes, I had noticed."

Colt lowered his voice. "I do believe they're in shock."

"I'm in shock," Jay muttered. "You should at least be unconscious."

Amneris sighed. "I guess that means they won't be able to help us. We'll have to find her on our own."

"Great!" Jay said, pointing at the door. "Can we go?"

"Sure."

Amneris palmed a knife. She spun on the spot, the knife flying from her hand to the level above. A loud thump followed choking sounds. Amneris turned her attention to the guard. Instead of going for a second knife, she released a sliver handgun from its holster on her thigh, shooting them three times in the chest. She blew smoke from the barrel before taking the lead once again.

Colt and Jay took up flanking positions behind Amneris, unable to do anything but watch in amazement as she shot everyone who crossed her path. Despite the fact it was clear she would need no assistance, they remained in place. Just in case. While the group was often victorious no matter the odds, they'd had their fair share of close calls. And most of them happened when a certain female was in a bad mood.

Jay grabbed Amneris hand as they reached a fork in their path. He sniffed the air before starting down one of the passages at a run. Amneris and Colt exchanged glances, hurrying after him. The three turned this way and that, following the many twists, turns, and splits in the pathway. They stopped outside an iron door. Jay nodded at Amneris. She kicked it down.

The room was large and dark. Light came from a few dim orbs hovering around the room. A channel was cut into the path, creating a moat-like appearance for a platform at the far end, surrounded by a dim purple light. A figure was inside it. They jumped to their feet and ran to the shield.

"Hathy!" Amneris called. She ran forward.

"No! Stop!" Hathor strained against the chains holding her in place. "It's a trap!"

Amneris stopped too late. Her foot landed on a stone which sunk a few centimetres. "Oh, you're fucking kidding-"

Red liquid fell from the ceiling like a waterfall, splashing into the cut channel. Amneris yelped and jumped back to avoid being hit. One drop landed on her skin. She hissed as it burned her, quickly wiping it away before more damage could be done.

"Liquid Scarlet Budtorite," Amneris said with a forced laugh. "Good move, Nephthys."
