A worker for the Halluci Palace, an advisor of some sort. Aliea is aware of a sinister plot sneaking its way into the palace, so she's been on her toes more often than usual.
"Hey, Aliea~" A voice from behind her whispers.
"JACQUE! I told you to stop with that."
The boy laughs. "I know, I know."
It's silent for a moment before Jacque speaks again,
"So you know the rumor going around?" he smirks.
"What rumor? And don't give me that look."
"You know you like it." Aliea rolls her eyes. "Ok ok fine, I heard that they were making something."
"You mean the higher-ups?"
"The weird non-earthlings yes, yes, those."
"You mean to tell me they are working on something I wasn't informed of?"
"I don't know maybe it's a surprise or not as important as it's led on to be."
"Whatever Jacque." Aliea turns away. It's not that I think Jacque is wrong or anything he's just always overreacting and acts very... strange. Jacque is always going on rants about the cute girls he sees strolling outside it's concerning, considering I've only prioritized my work.
Aliea strolling down the hall to the library comes across a document on the floor. One of the messengers must've dropped it, she thought.
Aliea picked up the mysterious paper. As she skimmed through the thin lines she saw something questionable, "unknown challenges," "may result in death." "These participants will be chosen by yours truly, the higher-ups." "If they survive they can-"
Aliea was shocked by this but before she could process it and read anymore the document is ripped from her hand, Aliea looked up, it was one of the castle's patrol guards. "Where did you get this?." He asked, calm and collected. Aliea could tell he was uneasy,
"I just picked it up I had assumed a messenger had dropped it and I was going to take it to the messenger's nearest post."
"Ah, I see then.." The guard still facing the other way said, "Well then I must be off, thank you. And what was your name again?"
"Aliea."
"Last name?"
"I don't really have one, just Aliea." The guard made a noise of agreement and walked off.
Well, that was strange, Aliea thought. I'll think about it later, but for now, I need to continue my work. She rushed back to her studies.
