I rang the bell, where 789 lay beside it. '1, 2, 3, 4' I counted. Nathan opened the door wide open with the familiar grin plastered on his face.

A while later, we were seated at the same kitchen. "Okay did you ge-" "Where were you?" I gushed out. "Where was I?" Nathan was puzzled up; I guess he didn't think I would realise his disappearance. "After Chemistry class, you weren't there." I told him gesturing with my hands for him to continue. "I mean like I was-I wanted to say thank you" I explained further. "I had to leave to run some errands" was all he had to say. I dropped the topic.

"Thank you by the way." I told Nathan as he opened the book in front of him. He nodded smiling, and for the first the first time, I saw his eyes glisten in the light. His eyes were dark but appealing. It was strange because I never really found dark eyes attractive, but Nathan was an exception.

"Why are you staring?" He tilted his head smirking. "I-I wasn't." Lies. Lies. "Yeah sure.." He glanced over at me. I rolled my eyes frowning. "Why is this solution colourless?" I asked in order to distract him..

Around thirty-five minutes into the tutor thing, Nathan's stomach growled like crazy. I stifled my giggle with the palm of my hand. He laughed brushing it off, but then his stomach whaled again. He stood up, bent opening the fridge's door, and basically eye-raped its insides. He huffed and stood up planting his hands on his hips.

"Let's go to McDonald's." He suggested- more like demanded. "Sit down, and let this hour end safely before I murder you." Is he serious? McDonald's? Now? Nathan walked out of the kitchen completely ignoring what I have just said. I heard keys jiggling. He came back in, grabbed my hand, and dragged me over to the front door. "NATHAN STOP." I yelled as he opened the door. He stopped walking and turned around. "Don't worry I know how to drive. And if you're worrying about your Chemistry lesson, which I know you're not, I'll continue the lesson there. Can we go now?" He gushed out everything, and I seemed to stay silent for a while contemplating this whole thing.

"Say yes say yes cause I need to know." Nathan waved in the air as he plopped himself down on the driver's seat. I entered the car and looked at him flinching. "Nathan that's so gay. Are you sure you can drive?" He simply smiled, and I didn't know whether that was an 'it's okay I got it' or a 'just put your seat belt on in case we die, and they find us without seat belts so they blame the seat belts' kind of smile.

Nathan started the engine as he drove off -safely- to McDonald's. He decided against take-away, so we entered the restaurant letting the burgers' smell embrace us. "What would you like to order, Sir?" The cashier asked glancing at Nathan then back at me. "Cassandra?" He nudged me. "Um.. A strawberry milkshake would be good." I glanced up at the huge menu board and damn did the food look and smell good. I was tempted, but I didn't want to be a burden on Nathan; especially the fact that we're not really on the best of terms. "That will be..Four Double-McChicken, one large Coke, and one strawberry milkshake." I furrowed my eyebrows and widened my eyes at him. He flashed yet another smile.

I went to find a seat for two waiting as Nathan paid and came back with a tray. He sat across me and signaled with his hand to the food. I grabbed my milkshake jabbing the straw inside as he did the same to his coke. "Eat." Nathan ordered. I raised my eyebrows laughing. "Come on. I ordered for the both of us... Or is it that you know you will lose against me in a food challenge?" I snorted at his comment. Oh how wrong he was. He obviously knows nothing about me, poor kid.

"Okay fine. Whoever finishes two burgers and the drink first, wins." Nathan grinned widely agreeing to my rules. "Unleash the inner beast in you Cassandra. You'll need it." He stated counting "3, 2, 1"

"Give up already." Nathan breathed out with his mouth full. "You spit on me!" I screamed. I'm pretty sure that, by now, everyone in McDonald's was staring. I had three more bites left and half of my milkshake. Oh Lord. Nathan had about the same amount left..

Approximately, three more minutes passed, and I was basically done with my bites and half milkshake. Damn. Nathan looked up and frowned in anger. He had one more sip of his coke to win, and right when he took that last sip, he stood up bowing and blowing invisible kisses to an invisible audience.

"This," I pointed at the food, "is unfair!" Nathan pursed his lips and drew closer. "Mhm and why do you think so?" He interrogated smirking. "You had a Coke, and I had a 'milkshake'! Coke is easier to drink faster!" I shrugged making my point there. "Cassandra, accept your loss and bow to my victory," Nathan pierced his eyes into mine tagging along a hint of a smile about to form at the ends of his lips.

"So back to chemistry..." Nathan started. I groaned "NOOOOO Nathan just because I made my point, and you, too, think I deserved to win you don't have to be mean."

We walked back to the car, but Nathan spotted something -or someone- and stopped dead in his tracks. I situated myself on the passenger's seat and looked over at Nathan who wasn't moving. "Nath-" "Stay right here, take the keys, lock the doors, and wait until I come back." He looked at me for the longest he's ever done. His orbs were dark although the stars shone on them. I was worried, scared, but somehow safe.

"Natha-" "There's no time to explain. Just obey." And with that, he left. I did as told and waited for about 8 minutes; oh how abnormally long this felt.

Nathan came back panting as I unlocked the car's doors. He jumped in on his seat and drove off without a word said. About five minutes into the ride, all I could hear was his heavy breathing. There's some explanation to do. "What happened?" I asked eagerly, but Nathan ignored. "Tell me what happened." I ordered this time. He parked in a random street making the car come to a halt killing its engine.

"What do you want to know?" Nathan's look was extremely intimidating -more than usual. "Everything." I demanded straightforward. "Everything? Okay. Why are you trusting me?" I shuffled in my seat suddenly getting uncomfortable. I shrugged, and my eyes landed on his hands. They were ornamented with scratches and bruises. "Na-" "Answer me." He stated blankly. There were no emotions on his face. The car fell silent; the only thing audible was our breathing.

"How can you go out and ride in a car with a total stranger? What if I poisoned your food back in McDonald's? What if I was a rapist? Kidnapper? Murderer? Wh-" Nathan began ranting and ranting nonstop. I grabbed him by both shoulders and turned him towards me. "YOU'RE MY CLASSMATE." I yelled over his voice. He shut his mouth breathing heavily yet again.

"Tell me everything." I said one last time waiting for his response. Nathan locked the doors and looked at me. "I'm a ninja." He whispered, and I slapped him-yes I slapped him. "WHO DOES THAT YOU CREEPED ME OUT LIKE THIS IS NOT OKAY AND WHAT THE-" I put my hand over my mouth banging on the door with my hands for Nathan to unlock them. Right when he got the hint and unlocked the doors, I flew the car's door open limping over to a side-bush and started vomiting my previous meal.

Nathan opened the door and jogged over towards me. He laughed clutching onto his stomach then strolled closer behind me holding my hair upright. "Nathan don't seeeeeeeeeee" I vomited even harder. He patted my back rubbing circles. I guess three minutes later, I stopped vomiting and pranced back to the car. "Just drive." I ordered Nathan before he mentions anything embarrassing.

"Where are your parents?" I couldn't help asking as Nathan pulled up in his driveway. I mean there was basically no sign of any car in the garage. He seemed to be deep in thoughts and zoned out while staring into the void. "I-" "Mom always has late night shifts and Dad... Well, he's in a better place now." Nathan sighed looking everywhere but at me. "Sorry I-" "Yeah I'm sorry too, but what happened, happened." He cut me off yet again. I gulped glancing out of the window.

"Where's your place?" Nathan asked after about two minutes of silence. I filled him in with the directions he needed, and he seemed to know the location quicker than I thought he would. We bid our goodbyes, and I strolled over to my porch. I entered the house taking one last glimpse as Nathan drove away...
