I walk beside Lily as the two of us enter the Gryffindor common room.

"Hey Lilyflower." James Potter states. I look lover to see the four Marauders sitting in front of the fire. James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and another boy who I assume is Peter Pettigrew. The four were also joined by another girl with blonde hair and beautiful features. My face falls as Lily walks over to them.

"Don't push it Potter." Lily states, "Hiya Marlene." Marlene McKinnon. I remember her from the order of the Phoenix. The picture Sirius gave Harry.

"Come on Evans you know you love the banter." I feel a single tear fall down my cheek. This is the life they deserved. The one full of happiness, full of life. The life they all deserve. My breathing catches in my throat as I turn away.

"Alice? Are you alright?" I hear Remus ask.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." I reply whipping my tear away from under my glasses. "I just uh, I'll be back in moment I forgot my uh books at the library." I quickly walk out of the common room. The door closes behind me as I descend the stairs. Half way down the moving stairs I pause lowering myself to a sitting position overwhelmed by the situation. I begin to shake as tears fall from my eyes. They didn't deserve any of this. Harry and I were suppose to be with them, the four of us as a family. The tears continue to falls as I feel lost, empty. After a while I calm myself down, stand up and continue to make my way down the stairs as if nothing happened.

"Oh new girl." I hear a voice call causing me to look up.

"I see your friends with my cousin now, the blood traitor." Bellatrix states, "Well it only seems fitting since you are a mudblood." My face hardens.

"ALICE! ALICE?" I react late to the call. Oh right, I'm Alice. I turn to see Lily and Marlene running up to me. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm fine."

"I was just talking your little friend about her new friendship with my cousin the blood traitor and you, you mudblood."

"That's it. Do you wanna go bitch?" I question taking a step foreword.

"Ok I think this needs to stop." Lily states pulling me back.

"No let her go." Marlene insisted. I walk up to Bellatrix starring her in the eyes.

"Don't say that about these people, especially Lily Evans and Sirius Black. Don't you ever say anything like that ever again." I hiss. I stare at her for a moment longer before walking away. "Come on." I state to the two girls who follow behind me.

"Thank you." Lily states.

I smile in her direction. The three of us walk back to the common room in silence. Once inside all four boys head turn in our direction.

"Did you get your books?" James questions with a smirk. My eyes widen.

"Yeah but I set them on fire on my way here." I reply with a small smile. Lily and Marlene walk over and join the group as I stand awkwardly.

"Come sit." Lily states. I open my mouth to say something but decide not to. I walk to the group before sitting down in between Remus and Sirius.

"Where did you go?" James asks, "Because you obviously didn't collect any books."

"Your quite smart huh?" I reply. Talking to James reminds me of talking to Harry. James shakes his head looking down smiling. I see Remus smirk his way. "I went on a walk."

"I must tell you Sirius that while on her walk, Alice confronted your cousin Bellatrix."

"I'm sorry? You what?" Sirius question looking at me with a smile.

"I wouldn't say I confronted her, I-" I state embarrassed.

"I think your exact words were 'do you wanna go bitch?'" Marlene states with a smirk. "I thought she was gonna punch her."

"Why?" Remus questions.

"Have you met my cousin?"

"It was nothing really." I state.

"Nothing?" Lily questions angrily.

"Yeah it was no big deal anyone would have done the same thing."

"She called Lily a-a mudblood and Sirius a bloodtraitor." James' face hardened at Marlene's statement as the anger from before is reignited.

"I hate her." I see Sirius look at me out the corner of my eyes as I turn to face him. His face was neutral.

"Why'd you do it?" He questions.

"I'm sorry?"

"Why did you almost get into a fight for us, people you don't know." I look down.

"Sirius." Remus hisses. I look back at him. I pause for a second thinking of something to say that wasn't, because were family.

"I may have only been here for a day but you have all shown me kindness and have welcomed me and well, no one deserves to be called those names." Sirius nods not taking his eyes away from me.

"Thank you." James states, "You didn't have to do that but you did so thank you." I smile looking down. I look up at James. My heart warms at his smile of pride. The group begin talking again, beside me Sirius remains silent. Out the corner of my eye I see him attempt to communicate to me. I watch him open his mouth before closing it. I ignore him as I listen into the conversation between the rest of the group.

"Ok listen no matter how many times you say it, it doesn't mean you're the funniest in the group. You're not even a funny person."

"Here you can have this bed." Marlene states pointing to the spare bed towards the left. I smile walking over to it. "Oh and McGonagall left this for you." I turn to see her handing me a suitcase. I take it confused as I take it over to my bed. I place it down on the mattress before opening it up. There, in the case was a bag of toiletries, sleep wear and regular clothes, textbooks and notebooks. Luckily I had my wand on my person, kept in between the waste band of my pants my hip, during my time travelling adventure. I smile.

"Thanks." I state causing Marlene to smile. The two begin to converse in conversation as I sit on the bed. I smile as Lily's laugh rings through the dormitory. I quickly get changed into the sleep wear provided before getting under the covers of the four poster bed. I close my eyes as the light is quickly put out. I lay there starring at the darkened ceiling as the wind whooshes against the castle walls.
