FIVESIRIUS BLACK
I lay in the fourposter bed looking at the ceiling. I sigh listening to the sound of deep breathes made by my room mates. I sit up before walking out of the dormitory and down into the main are of the common room. I look around and take a moment to breathe it in. It's quite different to the Ravenclaw tower. Less airy, less clean. But still nice all the same. I walk over to the fireplace and take a seat on the couch. I find a small piece of parchment and begin to write whatever comes to my mind.Dear Harry,
I do miss him. Even though he annoys me.
It's my first day here in the past. They're just like everyone described but better. I don't really know how to get back at the moment but I miss you. I never thought I would say that. I wish you were here, so we could experience-
"Can't sleep?" A voice questions breaking my concentration. I turn my head to see Sirius walking towards me. My eyes widen at his sleepy form, his sleep wear, his bed hair. I now get what they all meant.
"No. How about you?"
"No." He replies crossing his arms, "What are you doing?"
"Writing a letter to my brother." I fold it up as he takes a seat next to me at the table. "Why can't you sleep?" I question as he takes a seat beside me. I watch him look into the fire before responding.
"I don't know." He replies before speaking again. "I just wanted to say thank you, you know for sticking up for me and Lily. I don't know anyone who would willingly stand up to them."
"I'm sure anyone would have done the same thing." I reply looking at him.
"You keep saying that." He states turning to look at me, "But not everyone would have stood up to her." I nod looking down.
"Your welcome." I state. I fold the parchment in half and in half again as Sirius sits down beside me. I place the parchment under my leg so these was no chance he would read it.
"Why do you hate them so much?" A question I had never asked. I knew they were bad people, but to what extent?
"What a loaded question." He sighs leaning back. I turn to face him leaning against the arm of the chair. "Well I just don't fit in. I'm Gryffindor, they're all Slytherin. Even my brother." I raise my eyebrows at the mention of his brother. I've only heard stories. "They don't treat me, let's say well."
"Tease you?"
"Beat me." I look up at him surprised at his honesty.
"Oh." The room falls silent. "Now I wish I'd done worse." I see him give a small smile.
"It doesn't matter now, I've moved out." I nod remembering. He's living with my dad. I turn back to facing the fire. I relax leaning back against the couch. "What's your story?" I turn towards him with a small smile. I look back towards the fire.
"Um well." I pause. "I lost my parents when they were young. Dead. Now I have new parents who are muggles they're my mums sister and her husband. Um I live with my brother and my cousin. And yeah this part of my life has been kept a secret." I look over at him. He nods staring at the fire. He doesn't say anything as we sit in a comfortable silence.
"I'm glad you're here." He states causing me to smile. "That you've discovered magic is what I mean." I don't look at him as I reply.
"Me too." As I watch the flames dance around my eyelids begin to close. I lean my head back against the couch closing my eyes as I feel Sirius shift beside me. I feel myself begin to fall towards him but I wake up in time turning to him. "Sorry." I mutter looking into the fire embarrassed.
"No it's okay." He's silent for a moment. "Do you want to come here?" I turn to him. I see the nerves in his face. I pause for a second. It's nothing. I smile leaning into his side. I close my eyes as I feel his arm move around me. His smell so comforting. I feel myself begin to drift off.
