Chapter 5

Emma, David and Mary Margaret came back into the cave and looked around for something. Emma and Calista were looking at the walls of drawings. Calista walked to one of the shelving and looked around.

David walked to Calista, "You doing okay?" Calista whispered.

"Not really, but we need-" David whispered.

"To focus on Henry, I know, I know," Calista whispered.

"Any pain relief for it?" He whispered.

"I don't think I have anything that would relieve you of this pain," Calista looked in her small satchel then shook her head, "I'm sorry," Calista whispered.

"Wow," Emma said.

"What is it?" David asked and looked away from Calista's stash of potions.

"It appears Neal marked his days trapped on this island," Killian said.

Emma jumped on the rock to get a better look at the marks, "What's wrong?" Mary Margaret asked.

Calista walked to Killian and they looked at the markings, "Look here," Emma pointed to the mark on the wall, "Neal stopped counting," Emma said.

"'Cause he got off the island," Mary Margaret said.

"He was here longer," Emma said.

"Then why would he..." David said.

"Because he lost hope," Emma said.

"You got that from scribbles?" Regina asked.

Emma jumped off the rock, "I got that because it's what I did every time I went to a new foster home. I counted days until counting seemed pointless," Emma said.

"I should've tried harder to bring him back to the ship," Calista said.

"Not your fault," Killian said and hugged her as she hugged back.

Emma soon decided that they would send Henry a message and Mary Margaret had an idea then Regina and Mary Margaret left.

Killian held his sister and rubbed her back, "Swan," Killian said.

"What? We're wasting time," Emma looked at them, "Everything okay?" Emma asked and watched Calista move away from them.

"I, uh... I just wanted to let you know that I do know what it feels like, to lose hope," Killian said.

Calista and David glanced at each other then at them, "I know what this is. This is you... You know, trying to bond with me. So, save your breath. I'm not in the mood," Emma said and walked away from him.

David walked to Killian, "Let me give you a bit of advice, Hook. She's never gonna like you," David said.

"Is that so?" Killian asked.

"Well, how could she? You're nothing but a pirate," David said and walked away.

Calista looked at Killian and walked to him, "You good?"Calista asked.

"Aye, you?" Killian asked.

"Aye, come on," Calista said and wrapped her hand around his hook, pulling him out of the cave.

Flashback

The Jewel of the Realm is at anchor, sailors attend to their assign tasks.

"Look alive, men!" Sailor One said.

"Take the sail, take the rig!" Sailor Two said.
