I can't believe it. I'm really here. If only this line will move so I can get inside. After days of waiting, camped out in tents outside the box office for this ticket, I am almost there. Finally the line moves and I wrinkle my nose I disgust as I shuffle forward only a few steps, and find myself assaulted by an awful smell. I lean in closer to the woman in front of me and sniff.
Nothing.
For hours now I've been under the impression that it was this woman that smelled as though she'd rolled in a pile of dog poop, but I'm beginning to think it might be me. I guess that's what I get for living like a homeless person for a week. I don't care though.
In the end, getting to see him, is always worth it.
The sound of arguing reaches my ears and I groan. Not again. Seriously, sometimes parents can be so uncool. I turn slowly, knowing exactly what I'm going to see - but still I'm surprised. There's my mother, engaged in a heated conversation with a girl, no older than ten, about who is more attractive - Zayn or Harry. My mom actually looks really pissed.
I shake my head and turn away, wishing I hadn't let her convince me that wearing matching shirts, with "Harry Styles or Bust" scrawled across the front in glitter and sequins, was a good idea. She said it was about bonding or some shit. Now I can't even pretend not to know her.
I turn away, hoping that she won't drag me into it.
"Star."
I ignore her.
"Star!"
Why she thinks raising her voice will make a difference I'm not sure. It hasn't worked for years, did parents just get dumb when they got older?
"Star Leia Worthington! So help me, I will sell your ticket to that desperate looking woman by the front gate if you keep ignoring me!"
I sigh and roll my eyes before turning around and offering her a sweet smile.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't hear you," I say, trying not to meet the eyes of the ten year old girl. I know what I'll see if I do - tears. My mother is the queen of crushing young girl's dreams.
"I'm trying to explain to this girl-"
It didn't matter what she was trying to explain - the line was moving and I could care less. I turn, rushing to fill the gap that had formed between me and the woman in front of me. I'm nearly certain now that I am the cause of the smell, but it doesn't matter because I've finally made it and in a few hours I'll be face to face with the love of my life.
Or I'm going to die trying.
