ALIYAH

chapter one

I wake up to the buzzing sound of my alarm, i looked at the time and noticed it was 6:30am,i quickly went into the bathroom took my bath,brushed my teeth and wore my uniform when i finished it was already 7:00am.

As i was climbing down the stairs i perceived an aroma coming from the kitchen, mom was cooking fried potato and egg sauce ow my favorite my mouth waters just at the mention of it .
When i got to the kitchen i greeted mom she served my meal and i took it to the dinning and devoured it, I bid mom goodbye and went out to meet the driver. On my way to school i was happy because today I'm writing my last exam in secondary school and in a week time will be my graduation.

I have this childhood dream of being a doctor in future and i hope that one day i will elegantly walk in a White coat and my stethoscope around my neck.

When it is closing my driver came and picked me up from school as we got to the house the gateman opened the gate we drove in then he closed them back, I hurriedly jumped inside mom welcomed me and i took lunch also prepared by her.

In the evening dad came back and we discussed about my graduation before we finally went to sleep. Being the only child i got all the attention need from both sides and was allowed to do whatever i liked, i dozed off to dreamland with the thoughts of how I'll spend my days at the university.

Few days to the graduation mom and i went for shopping at el- Habib boutique,we bought a pink dress with matching shoe and Vail for the big day and also made some arrangements for the guests. Finally the day came and we were all happy we danced,chatted,clicked some photos with friends, families and well wishers i was exceptionally happy. After the party everyone parted to their various destinations .

Two weeks later, while we were having a family chat dad announced that he will be going on a business trip to Europe on monday and will take three days to finalise everything, after that he would return. On Monday mom and i followed him to the airport and bid him goodbye .

On Wednesday morning mom and i sat in the living room talking about things that happened in the graduation when a knock was heard on the door i ran to check who was at the door it was my uncles i welcomed them with smiles and mom served them drinks. After few seconds of silence one of them spoke he said [what I'm about to tell u now will hurt u but u will have to take heart] mother and i were eager to what he would say then he finally said alhaji is dead the next thing i heard was someone calling my name n darkness engulfed me.
