Seema

"Why are you scowling at your phone?" I hurled my cell phone on the table and sigh with the frustration.

"What happened?" Kiera asked again with the concern.

"Rahul, he happened to me like always"

"What has he done this time?" Kiera rolled her eyes, she thinks it's me whose world spin around Rahul, but that's not the truth.

"Reminding me of his weekend plan with Rudra" Anger boils my blood even thinking of Rudra near that vicious woman. I lost my husband to her once, now I won't let her take my son too.

"Seema, you know you can't stop him to take his own son for a weekend" I fisted my hand and pounded it down on the table.

"I am warning you Kiera, do not ever say that, Rudra is my son... Do you get it? He is my son" I stare at her with angry glare.

"Fine, Seema." She shrugs.

"I am sorry" instantly I realized my mistake, I felt terrible for being rude to Kiera, after my family she is the closest person to me. With her I can pour my heart out, she understands me, even if not, she would not leave my side.

"That's completely fine Seema, I know how possessive you are when it comes to Rudra" Kiera flashes an assuring smile.

"That bitch is behind all of this, I don't know why she has sudden interest in my son" it genuinely concerned me. She never had interfered before, but now she is using every opportunity to get close to my son.

"I don't understand Seema, what would she do in one weekend? I understand your sentiments, but I think you are over reacting." Blunt, that is one quality of Kiera. She doesn't need to sugar coat her words in front of me, I adore this quality of her but now she is irritating me.

"I did underestimate her once, the biggest mistake of my life." And that shuts her up, Kiera knew the history, and history can repeat itself, no I won't let her snatch my son. I thought about those days when I was naïve enough to trust her, I didn't see her as a threat, I fell for her pretty innocent face and believed she has very clean heart. I was the biggest fool not to see the inevitable.

Flashback

"Where were you?" I asked, frowning slightly at Rahul.

"I told you already, Seema" Without looking at me, he tugged at his tie to loosen it. Rahul shrugged off his jacket and tossed it over the end of the sofa.

"No, you didn't tell me all the truth, meeting was over a long back." He scrunched his eyebrows at me.

"Are you spying on me?" He doesn't sound serious, yet his gaze is judging me.

"Don't avoid the topic, where were you Rahul. I called in the office, they said you left the office by 4. Do you know how angry dad is?" I know, I am behaving like a nagging wife but what else should I do. Seeing dad so disappointed, really broke my heart. I was so excited about this venture; Rahul failed his dad once more by losing that contract.

"Yeah, another round of lecture on dad." He flopped on a bed and put his face in his hands.

"Do you think I enjoy this? I hate it, it's me who has to face your dad because you never stay at home." I yell at him in frustration.

"Then why are you staying here? We can always move out" He said looking at me with hopeful eyes and I have to turn my eyes off from him. I lost the count of numbers of our discussions on the same topic, I don't want to move out.

"Rahul, you know my answer" I flatly answered, in response he shook his head and laid down on the bed in defeat.

"Then don't blame me" Covering his face from his arms he said in a low voice. I felt a tug in my chest, a pull at my heart so strong I thought my ribs would break open. He seems so sad and crushed.
