I don't know if it's just me or Monday mornings are the worse. Whoever thought it was okay to have school the day after new year, we going to have a problem. I mean, it's not my fault if I have a major hangover. HAHA just kidding.
"Bella, Cameron, wake up! You have school today," my mother shouted from downstairs. It was the first day of school after summer break and I was so excited.
Sarcasm. I was being sarcastic!
Honestly, I didn't like school. Why would I want to go somewhere and study stuff I already knew? To say I was a nerd, was an understatement. Even though I don't wear big, black rimmed glasses, I put in pretty much a lot of effort to work hard in high school. My goal was simple, I wanted to study hard and move out of this small town.
I had an elder brother, Cameron who was a year elder than me. I am a junior in Eastview High School, and he is a senior. He's in the football team at school and super popular while I was just another girl in the shadows. I didn't like any attention on me, and I didn't enjoy being in the spotlight.
I snuggled into the cover for a few minutes and I felt my bed dunk beside me. I knew it was my brother, so I just hugged him, and we continued sleeping. After a few minutes, the door burst open and let's just say my mom wasn't too pleased, but hey, shouldn't she be used to this by now?
"How many minutes?" I asked her and she said 20 minutes, so I quickly got up and went straight to the bathroom. I looked at my face, bags under my eyes and dark circles. I always looked like that, so it didn't really bother me. I picked up the hairbrush and tried to tame down my long, brown, wavy hair. Its safe to say that Cameron got the looks in the family. He had perfect blonde hair that was always messy but somehow suited him. We both had brown eyes and while his looked like honey, mine was always lifeless.
I did my business and put on a blue hoodie that said, "you talking to me?" along with black jeans and black and white vans. I peeped into my brothers' room and saw that he wasn't there, meaning he was already downstairs. I ran downstairs and saw the time on the grandfather clock in the hall. 7:45 am and school started at 8:00 am. Luckily school was only a 5-minute drive and Cam normally drove us there.
I entered the kitchen and saw my mom drinking coffee from her mug while sitting on a stool in the kitchen. I kissed her cheek and ruffled my brother's hair wishing them good morning before grabbing a granola bar from the cupboard and was ready to go.
I waved to my mom and went outside while Cameron came out of the house. We both got into his jeep and he turned on the radio. I hated his music, so I reached my hand to change the radio. He just slapped my hand away. "My car, my radio," he said while smiling. I just rolled my eyes and looked out the window. I would have normally argued with him, but it was too early in the morning and I had nerves for the first day back.
