A day in the life of Lilla.
Every morning I wake up around 6 a.m. My sister, Bella, is already awake and getting ready. I hop in the shower right after Bella and after that I wash my face, and pick out some clothes. I go downstairs where mom has already made some breakfast for Bella and I! We eat and watch the news. "Thanks for the food mom!" I said running up the stairs to go do my hair. She smiled and talked to my dad, Ukai, as he came out of his room. Grumpy as could be. I run to blow dry my hair and 'style' it to have some curls. I grab my bag and run outside to where Bella had already started to walk. "Do you have everything?" Bella asked, "Shoot, I forgot my notes." Bella sighed, "Check before you leave, I tell you this all the time." "I KNOW" I shouted from the door frame of the store. You might be wondering, 'store'. Well my father Ukai owns a little shop that we live above! Anyways, I grab my notes and run to school with no Bella in sight. She took the other path, I thought to myself. I sighed and ran to school.
I got to school just on time and walked into the halls. I always get pushed around because I'm short, and an outcast. I've never really had too many friends in life besides Bella, but she hangs out with her friends at school and we never get to see each other. I finally got to my class and seated myself. I took out my notes and did my classwork. The day goes by pretty fast, but lunch time came around. I always enjoy lunch because I can have peace and quiet. I walked into the hallway and my arm gets tugged outside. "What are you doi-" I squealed as Bella covered my mouth. "Shhhh" Bella said quietly. She drags me by the arm outside of the girls volleyball court. "Can you help me practice! I have volleyball try-outs today and I'm nervous." she said. "Sure I guess, can I eat my lunch first though?" I asked. "Mhm!" She said as she opened her lunch box and started to eat. "We haven't eaten together in a while at school" I said, "I never see you, where are you during the day?" "I'm in class?" "I know that but like the hallways?" "Do you remember how short I am?" "Yeah, short moms check!!" I giggled and closed my eyes thinking about my mom. Does she remember me at all? I cannot forget those words, "THATS IT, WE ARE DONE HERE," it plays in slow-mo. she takes off the ring and placed it in daddy's hand. "You good Ukai?" Bella asked, "Just thinking about if you made it on the volley ball team!" we laughed and practiced the rest of lunch.
I finished up lunch and the rest of my classes and headed toward the volleyball gym to peek in. They were all running laps, stretching, and sets were being made. I walked away back home before anyone would see me spying. When I got home it was my 'shift' for work. I get payed by my dad to work a certain amount of hours so, that's nice. I was outside turning the signs off when a short boy ran up with a bleached streak in his hair, like a skunk. "WAIT!" he screamed. He was running like a bear was chasing him. "ARE YOU CLOSED?" the boy asked, "I was closing up but this better be quick." "I NEED 36 PORK BUNS," I stared at him, "36..?" "yes" "Anything else? You might need a drink after eating 36 pork buns." I said. He nodded and picked out a soda. "This all correct?" I asked yawning. "Yup!" "Okay that'll be 15$-" he slammed 3 5 dollar bills on the counter and ran out with his stuff. I wiped my eyes to make sure I was seeing that correctly, making sure I didn't just interact with a human skunk. I locked the doors and went up to my room with Bella
"You're up 6 minutes later than usual!" Bella said. "Late customer, he looked like a skunk!" I said, as I bursted out laughing when Bella looked at me in disbelief. I stopped laughing. "I'm not joking, though it was a teeny bit funny." We both laughed and went to bed.
