A soft pair of steps of a girl and her Pokémon could be heard ringing throughout the mostly silent Mr. Coronet. The cave leading up to the ruins otherwise finding itself mostly silent aside from the occasional wild Pokémon.
The girl found herself bombarded with anxiety-ridden thoughts that had been festering in her mind over the past week.
'How could he leave?''Did I do something wrong?'
'Was it something I did?'
Were some of the constant thoughts that had been running through her head on repeat for almost a month now. Kuro left. The one person in this goddamn world she gave a shit about left her behind at Team Primals headquarters without a word. She waited a month for the idiot to hopefully come back to her. But as time continued to go on, the more she doubted that was ever going to happen. Part of her wondered if any of his reason for leaving was her fault and the thought of that only left her heart feeling heavy.
Really, she needed a distraction. Something to keep her mind off of her current dilemma and do something somewhat productive instead. Thus, when news came out with Team Starlight sniffing around the Ruins at Mr. Coronet, they needed someone to come scope out the area. See if there was any reason to come down here and intervene at all or not. Akita was more than happy to volunteer, it was just the distraction she was looking for.
Though the closer the raven-haired girl found herself getting for the ruins at the end of Mr. Coronet, the more she doubted Team Starlight was even there. It was almost too quiet, with no signs of the other Team being present.
Or, at least. Until her faithful Mightyena Nero gave a short bark, nose going to the ground with perked ears. Akita aimed her flashlight down towards the Dark-type as he raised his head once again, letting out a second bark before taking off.
"Nero, wait!" Akita called, a little louder than she probably should have been if Team Starlight was nearby. But, Nero didn't seem too concerned - Thus, she ran after her Pokémon rather than worry about how loud she was being. Turning a corner, she was faced with the exit to the extremely long cave. Nero having stopped at the exit to look back to his trainer and let out a short whine.
Both curiosity and confusion at her Pokémons reaction continued to drive her quick pace, jogging up towards the entrance and halted almost immediately. Her eye's taking a moment to adjust to the morning sun. When it finally did, the teen found herself speechless.
There were bodies. Everywhere.
Akita slowly walked herself outside the cave, Nero sticking to her side like glue as she did. The girl scanned her dark violet eyes scanning over the lifeless bodies and pools of blood that were littered all over the ground. "What the hell happened..." The teen found herself mumbling in both shock and confusion. Only halting her steps after making it to the middle of the bloody mess. The last thing she expected upon doing so was the sound of an earsplitting screech. Causing Akita to wince and cover her ears for that short moment. Nero at her side letting out a short whine, pinning her ears back as he looked towards the sound. The raven-haired teen only following her gaze once the screeching stopped.
Mewtwo.Nero let out a loud growl from Akita's side, ears no longer pinned down as he instead took a protective stance at his trainer's side as the powerful Pokémon stared the two down. It was a unnerve position to be in, the psychic type almost looked to be sizing the new arrivals up before narrowing his eyes and letting out another loud screech.
Both Akita and Nero winced at the sound of the second screech, though the reaction did not find itself as severe as the first time around. Without a command, Nero fired off a quick Shadow Ball. The move hadn't been charged up much, though despite the super-effective nature of shadow type moves on the powerful Pokémon - it did practically nothing, other than distract the legendary enough to silence it's screeching.
