Diego was packing his knives away when I walked into his room. I walked over to his bed and sat at the bottom of the bed. He looked up at me, sighed, then looked back at his knives. "Sorry about that. I try not to get mad but.." I shook my head. "Don't worry about it. You don't need to apologize to me." He put his case under his bed and grabbed his bag. I followed him downstairs. "Aright, I guess I'll see you guys in what 10 years? When Pogo dies?" Allison laughed. "Not if you die first." "Yeah love you too sis. Good luck on your next film. Hope it turns out better then you marriage huh?" Diego said. I rolled my eyes and walked by him but hitting my shoulder against his as I walked by.
Klaus walked up to Diego. "Are-Are we leaving?" "No I'm leaving. me by myself." Diego started to walk off. "Oh fabulous! I'll get my things!" Klaus clapped and went upstairs. I was sitting on the table so I jumped off and walked over to Diego and stood by him waiting for Klaus. "You're coming too?" He was looking at me. I looked back. "No shit." We walked outside. I got in the passenger seat and he got in the drivers seat. The back seat door opened. "Hey Diego!" He scared the living hell out of Diego. I laughed. Klaus got inside. "You know, every time I close my eyes I see a diarrhetic hippo about to shit on my face." He grabbed Diego's shoulders. "Its terrifying!" He looked at both of us "Terrific." Klaus closed his eyes. "No. No!" I laughed. "Lean back." Diego turned on the car and we were off.
Me and Klaus sat in the car as Diego looked at the lake.. He was holding Reginald's monocle. He dropped it in the lake. Klaus opened up his door. "Yoo-Hoo! Diego! I hate to rush you through any kind of brooding moment you might be having. But come on were starving!" I know he wasn't talking to me because when ever he would talk he would look in the seat next to him. "Let me guess your talking to someone who passed?" He looked at me. "Yes. My dead brother to be exact." I thought a minute trying to remember what Allison said his name was. "...Ben?" He looked at me and laughed. "Yeah!" I smiled and nodded then looked at Diego. Klaus continued to talk to Ben.
"Gunshots reported on the 400 block on Milton Avenue, Griddy's Doughnuts." I stuck my head out the window and looked at the radio and Diego started walking back to the car. He pointed at me. "Put your head in the car." I did. He got in the car. "Diego thank you for joining us, we have decided on, drum roll, Waffles!" "I'm gonna drop you two at the bus stop. I gotta get back to work." I looked at him. Klaus talked again. "What breaking bones and cracking scones?" He chuckled as he spoke the last few words. Diego looked at him through the rearview mirror. "Saving lives, baby." Klaus sighed. "I guess its frozen waffles again." Klaus looked at the seat next to him. Ben. Diego moved the rearview mirror to look at the other seat. Saw nothing, and moved it back. "Yeah I could do eggs and bacon. But im trying to cut down on my pig products." Diego put his mask on. "I want to come." Diego looked at me. "Yeah, right. Like I would let you." He started the car again and started driving. I let out a big annoyed sigh. Klaus laughed. "Come on Diego. Why can't I come." He ignored me.
~At The Bus Stop~
Klaus got out and waved goodbye. Diego looked at me. "Out." I crossed my arms and looked out the windshield. "Really?" I nodded. Klaus came over to the window and knocked on it. I rolled it down. "You going with him?" "Yes." Diego was about to say something but I cut him off. "Bye Klaus. Have fun with your frozen waffles." "See you later." He walked off. I looked at him. He groaned and started driving.
~At Griddy's Doughnuts~
We got out of the car. I started walking towards the store but Diego grabbed my arm and turned me around. "I will do the talking. Don't cause any trouble, And if you see a detective called Patch tell me." I nodded. I could see he didn't want to be seen by the cops because we kept sneaking around walls and we went through the side door. We got up to the waitress. She was sitting at one of the booths terrified. We sat in the other seat in front of her. "Ma'am?" She looked up at Diego. "We would like to talk to you about the shooting." She then looked at me then back at Diego. "Well uh. I guess ill start from the beginning." She told us all about the night. Including her name. Agnes. I asked some questions even though Diego told me not to. Diego stood up and looked out the window. His eyes widened and he grabbed my arm. "We need to go." I looked at him then looked back at Agnes. "Thank you for your time." She smiled at me and Diego dragged me outside. "Diego wait what's happening?" He sighed. "Alright ill tell you. I'm nots supposed to be here." "Yeah no shit. Hiding from the cops, telling me to tell you if a detective was here. You're not sneaky Diego." He rolled his eyes and kept looking around the corner. "Alright, alright. You can lecture me more in the car but we need to go."
He turned around I was still looking at the door for some reason. I hear Diego behind me. "Shit. Hang on let me-" I turned around. She tasered him. "Damn it Diego." She looked at me and I put my hands up. "You must be Diego's new partner. I'm Detective Patch." My eyes widened. "So your the girl he told me to look out for." She smiled and nodded. "Um anyways, I'm y/n. I'm a friend of his sister. Also, I'm not his partner. I just wanted to come with him and she what his 'work' was." She laughed. "Well sorry y/n I'm afraid I am going to have to put you in handcuffs." I nodded and put my hands out as she handcuffed me.
Diego woke up and Patch was lecturing him. "You don't talk to my witnesses understand?" "Let me catch you up to speed Eudora." "Don't call me that!" She yelled at him. Diego laughed. "Right, Detective Patch. What are we gonna keep things professional?" "Hey Diego!" Someone yelled from across the parking lot. He smiled and nodded at them. Patch grabbed Diego. "I don't know if we ever agreed on much." "We agreed on some things." "Did we really though?" She started looking through his jacket. She took his radio. "I'm confiscating this." "Military surplus, Practically giving them away." I was looking at the shop when she took another thing. "And this." "No skin, super cheap. Bought it on eBay." She took his mask out. "That you can keep." "You used to like that." "Not anymore." She walked us both to a police car. "By the way this may look like a botched robbery but my gut's telling me there's something going on here. Look the waitress. She mentioned the Ishmael's tow truck guy. Maybe they saw something." I got in the back first. "You're not police Diego, remember?" "Yeah, I know." She pushed him inside. "Do you?" She was lecturing him again but I zoned out and laid back against the seat and looked at the ceiling.
She walked off. He looked at me. "Well that was fun." "Mhm." I had my eyes closed. I was so bored. "Sorry for getting you into this. Its funny because you're not even phased by it." I laughed. "isn't my first time Diego." I opened my eyes and looked at him. He looked very confused but impressed. "Tell me." I sighed. "This will be a long story."
