I looked at Jenny as we leisurely strolled around the swimming pool. I deviously smirked at her , whatever boring story she was blabbering nonsense to my ears.

The moon light  made the water shine temptingly. It beckoned for someone , yes , it beckoned for me push her into to it. Cruel ? No , not at all. It would be quite nice , an impromptu swimming session in the chilly night air , quite convenient.

“ Look ! ”

Jenny's hand  suddenly grasped mine then pointed at the sky that was bursting with white streaks of light. It easily distracted me from my important plans.

“ Meteor shower , ” she whispered.

“ It's beautiful ,” I mumbled , begrudgingly and against my nature.

Silence stretched as we watched.

“ I'd never seen it before. Had you ? ” I asked.

I was lost in staring at the sky but frowned when I realized Jenny never answered me. I  spared her a look. She was critically observing me with a new unreadable sparkle in her brown eyes.

“ Jenny ? ”

She smirked , clearly up to mischief which was very confusing while she stalked closer.

“ Wh - what are you doing ? ” I stuttered.

That question was answered with a mighty shove that ended up in me landing into the water with a loud splash. The same water that I intended to push my dearest best friend into a while ago , which is bizarre if you ask me, I don't understand at what  point my thrashing self made such a stupid malicious decision.

My head was yanked from the water .

“ Fun isn't it ? ”

“ Stop ! ”

“ Aw ! You no fun , ”

She plunged me back in.
This was strange , Jenny would never do anything like this . This was my typical behaviour and it was suddenly disgusting.

I resurfaced again, coughing and gasping.

“ So fun ! ”

“ Don't th - think so, th - this bullying , ” I complained . My teeth chattering. It was maddeningly cold.

“ Is it ? ”

“ Please stop , ”

“ Aw ! You sound like the old me ,don't be boring , ”

And you sound like the old me.

I could not say it because of two reasons : my mouth was numbing and I was suddenly pushed back into the merciless water.

What had happened, I had no clue.

I had an urge to kick her or punch her so that she may lose her hold and let me go, but I couldn't. The only thoughts were I couldn't hurt my stupid best friend even if she was hurting me in her weird twisted version of fun.
