Catherine hated Henry for not letting her see Mary in the past. And now that the kids were back she finally got to make up for lost time. Mary was 11 and a little reluctant to leave her side. Which Catherine loved.
"Hey. Why don't we go get ice cream and go for a walk in the park?" She says and Mary nods, putting on her shoes. It was summer so they didn't need coats. As they walk out they pass Jane and Cathy with baby Edward and Mae, Anna and Kitty up a tree and Anne playing with a 3 year old Elizabeth. She tells the others where they're going and leaves with Mary to a chorus of 'bye'. Mary grips her hand as they walk along and Catherine smiles. She always held onto her like she was gonna go away again. But this time she wasn't going anywhere. No matter what she did. They get to the ice cream place and Catherine orders butterscotch for herself and raspberry ripple for Mary. They walk along in silence eating their ice creams and eventually come across a surprisingly empty playground.
"Hey. Wanna go for a swing while nobody's around?" She says and Mary nods.
"Okay" she finishes the last of the ice cream and walks over to a swing and Catherine follows.
"Hold on tight" she starts pushing and smiles when Mary laughs. She missed spending time with her little girl.
"Mom I don't want this day to end" Mary says as she keeps swinging and Catherine nods.
"Well why don't we look for more fun stuff to do then? We can go see a movie or go to the fair that's in town"
"Can we go to the fair? It's movie night tonight anyways" Mary says and Catherine nods, stopping the swing.
"Let's go!" She smiles as she's practically dragged towards the fair.
"Mom? Can I work in theatre when I grow up? It looks really fun"
"Well if that's what you want to do. Why don't we get you some lessons?" Mary nods and hugs her.
"Thanks mom. I love you"
"I love you too. So so much" Catherine says, kissing the top of her head and smiling as they get onto a roller coaster.

Time skip

Catherine chuckles as Mary skips along beside her clutching a very vibrant yellow bear and smiling.
"Mom can we do this more often?" She asks and Catherine smiles and nods.
"Of course we can! Why don't we make it a monthly thing?"
"Yeah! That would be so fun!" She says happily and Catherine smiles, lifting her daughter up onto her back and carrying her all the way home.
