Paisleys POV
Once everyone had finished eating and visiting, Esme, Jasper, Alice, Rose, Molly, Hermione, and I left to go and start setting up the birthday at the house. Alice had already started to set out things for the party, thank dumbledore. She had a way with designing anything. She had big tables set up, ready to be filled with food and presents. The backyard was big and open, with enough wood for everyone to be themselves without fear of any muggles seeing. Molly and Esme immediately hit it off, discussing the food and such while Hermione chatted with Rose, Alice and Jasper. I smiled at my family getting along with my new family so well. I let out a content sigh and pulled out my wand and waved it at the tables. The tables began to dress themselves
There was no food on the table yet, as you can't just make that our of thin air, but most of the hard work had already sorted itself out. I joined Esme and Molly, sorting out some fine details before helping out with the cooking. We chatted and laughed together as Alice made an aisle and everything, making the event almost look like a wedding, going full momma bear on everything.
"So, that strapping blonde ones been gawking since I got here. Wanna tell me about that?" My eyes widened and I looked slightly scared. I didn't want her to feel like I had forgotten about Fred, or like I was replacing him. She smiled, "I'm glad you've found such a polite boy. Fred would enjoy the fact that people where worked about him, but I can guarantee that he wouldn't want you raising Anna on your own, even though you could and your strong enough too. You shouldn't have to, and he wouldn't want you too. George hasn't been the same since, he doesn't smile, he's dying his hair, he's gotten an earring, because when he looks in the mirror, he sees Fred. I don't want another one of my children turning their life around because of this." I gave a soft smile, "Do you, remember when I told Fred I was pregnant?" She smiled wide, "I went out and bought you the tests and you did one of those cute shirts, you did one for everyone didn't you? Well minus Fred and Arthur?" "Yes ma'am." Esme smiled, "What all did you do?" "I did a shirt for the other boys and Hermione that all had different versions of saying their gonna be an uncle or aunt."
"Hermione had one that said from dog aunt to human aunt. Bill and Fleur had ones that said promoted to aunt and uncle. Charlie's said mess with my nephewassauraus, get jurasskicked. George had one that said best bro, but bro was crossed out and uncle was written in pretty letters. Pery's was the last one with a t-shirt and it said Gruncle, the grumpiest uncle." Molly smiled, "Arthurs though, you must tell her that one!" I chuckled. "Okay, so it was a small box with a small egg sized santa head with a sparkly hat that said crack me. He laughed and rolled his eyes playfully before smashing it on the ground all exagritive and picking up the paper that said due to production time, your christmas present is on layaway until september." "Oh that's cute!" I giggled as Molly agreed loudly and gestured for me to continue, "I had everyone open their gifts at the same time, Freds was this cute little book I had made that was written from the perspective of Anna, we didn't know the gender yet so it was the baby, asking him to brush up on skills he's need to teach them. It was titled A Letter to Daddy, his daft arse didn't get it at first and he opened it to read it as everyone else cheered and hugged me."
"How did he react at first?" "He was silent as he read and he began to tear up and then just silently stood up and walked over to me. I was so scared, everyone else was too, you could tell due to the silence in the room. He picked me up and began just running around, no where particular. He just ran, and yelled. He shouted, 'I'M GOING TO BE A DADDY!' over and over until his voice was hoarse. It was magical, literally, Molly charmed up party poppers and immediately began planning the baby shower with the girls as Arthur pulled him outside with a bottle of firewhiskey." "You were in school weren't you?" "Yes ma'am. Most of our friends and teachers congratulated us and offered help where it was needed, Dumbledore pulled Fred aside and gave the same Dad speech, seeing as he was the closest thing I had to a father after Sirius died. Remus and Harry obviously gave the whole dad speech like you had better not hurt type thing. Fred got into quite a few more fights that year though. He was always with me, making sure I had everything I needed, that no one was hurting me, fought those who were talking about us. It was the best though, Madam Pomfrey ended up delivering the baby, my water broke in Snape's class, surprisingly helpful, actually."
We finished making all the food at around noon and had everything set up and ready for when Harry and the others were joining us. The backyard looked splendid, Alice had definitely out done herself.
(Though it says Anna, obviously*Please read that in snapes voice*)
The tables for food were filled and Rose, Hermione, Alice, and Jasper were all helping bring out the cake, it was the center piece to everything.
I gawked at it, wondering how the bloody hell Molly and Emse were so good at decorating. A loud pop banged through the air and everyone else stood at the edge of the yard. Harry holding Paisley who was giggling and smiling like crazy. I waved my wand and pink snow began to fall over everyone lightly, making her giggle a little harder. She jumped out of Harry's arms and ran to me at full speed. I scooped her up and she hugged me tightly, "Pretty!" I chuckled, "Yes, baby very pretty." She nuzzled into my neck, "I love you mommy." I began to slightly tear up, "I love you too gorgeous. Go on and hug you granny, and everyone." She jumped down and ran over, I watched with a smile before looking up, "We did a good job."
While in Mollys arms she makes a grab at the snow and all of a sudden a little horse made of snow is running around her, causing Molly and I to yelp and cheer. The other witches and wizards also cheer before explaining to the muggles that this was her first magical experience, her first time doing her own magic, it proved that as she got older, she would be just like her parents. The rest of the night was spent laughing, visiting, and just enjoying each others company, loving the lull in our life, no wizarding war. No Voldemort, no Dumbledore missions. No order of the phoenix. Nothing to worry about as we celebrated, nothing at all to stop us from enjoying ourselves fully.
Okay, I suck, I know. Life has been kind of crazy recently, I lost 5 family members through all of this and none of them were even due to Covid. Though many of them were distant relatives, my great grandmother hurt a lot and I'm still trying to get over it. Wear a mask. Social distance. Stay safe. Stay beautiful, keep it ugly!
