Chapter 4

Qino (Surprise!!!)

The next day hit and I woke up to the sounds of my daughter attempting to whisper in my ear. "Daddy wake up." Amaya said while opening my eyelids.

I turned my head to the left and noticed that Mena was still asleep.

Mena has always been beautiful to me but to wake up and see her cuddling my arms caused something to stir in my chest. 'I really took you for granted and I am sorry beautiful.' I thought.

I lifted Amaya up off my chest while grabbing my phone and headed towards her bedroom and let her pick out an outfit for today.

"What do you want to wear today pretty?" I asked.

"Unicown" she replied

I grabbed her unicorn t-shirt and her rainbow tutu and her sandals and set them on her bed before heading towards the bathroom and washing my daughter up.

"Today we're going to have a family day. What do you think about you, me and mommy going to the zoo?" I asked.

"I wove the zoo Daddy!" she yelled.

"shhh you have to be quiet and let mommy get a little bit more rest okay?" I said while rinsing her off and grabbing her drying towel.

Once she was all dried off I quickly lotioned her up and put on her clothes.

"Alright let's go get some breakfast little mama." I said while heading downstairs towards the kitchen.

"What do you want for breakfast?" I asked

"chocolate chip pancakes and sau...saug.. I can't pronounce it daddy." She pouted

"say saus"

"Now put it all together and say sausage" I said while smiling at her.

"sausage, Yay!.. Daddy I said it!" she repeated excitedly.

"Good Job baby! I am so proud of you." I said while giving her a high five.

Just as I was about to start cooking my baby breakfast my phone started ringing.

Qino: "Hello? Who is this calling me?"

Unknown: "You got 48 hours to give me back my goods or that little

precious family of yours will come up missing."

They said right before they hung up the phone. I quickly dialed my homebody Jeff up on the phone and told him about the situation.

Jeff: "Yo what up nigga?"

Qino: "I need you to trace my last phone call somebody

Just called my phone and threatened to hurt me and my family you know I don't

Take threats lightly."

Jeff: "Say less I got you bro."

He said hanging up the phone.

When I was with the call, I quickly got my baby her breakfast and made sure none of the eyes on the stove were on.

"Maya stay right there I'm about to go and wake up your mother." I told her before heading upstairs and going into her bedroom.

"Mena.....Mena!" I yelled, while shaking her. She jumped up and hit me in the face in the process.

"wha....what's wrong?" she asked while looking around the room.

"Nothing I was just waking you up to let you know maya is downstairs eating and I need to dip right quick then get dress so we can go to the zoo." I explained.

"Oh alright." She said before heading into the bathroom to take care of her business. I quickly threw on my shoes and grabbed my car keys then went back to the kitchen to kiss my baby before heading out.

"Be good for me okay?" I asked while hugging on Maya.

"okay daddy." She replied.

When I left out the house I noticed a car sitting across the street that wasn't there yesterday.

I quickly pulled out my phone and text Mena letting her know to be careful and if she is going anywhere to grab her peacemaker.

The minute I started walking towards the car it started up and took off down the street.
