Beyond the Awakening // Kylo Ren x Reader

Chapter 21

"Kylo." You breathed before taking off in a full sprint in his direction.

Once again you begin avoiding the obstacles of trees and rocks as you ran towards Kylo. You were getting so close that you could make out the bridge of his nose, the sweat glistening off his forehead as he grunted, trying to lift his lightsaber that was burning the icy ground as the scavenger held his arm down.

She lets out one last shout before slamming down her lightsaber on his, making him lose his grip of his hilt. With another swift movement of her arm, she drags her lightsaber in an upwards motion. Kylo shouts in agonizing pain as he falls on his back and another wave of nausea washes over you as your blood runs cold and tears prick your eyes.

"Noo!" You screamed at the top of your lungs, causing Rey to fly to the side, her frail body hitting the ground as trees cracked in the middle and came crashing down with her as well.

You dart towards Kylo and step one boot over his body as you call his lightsaber into your grip, igniting it at the same time you ignite yours in your other hand and slightly bend your knees to crouch into an animal like stance that was ready to pounce. At the same time you still feel feel his life force, reassuring you that he was still alive but that didn't mean your anger was any less.

Rey props herself up on her elbows and her eyes grow wide as she stares at you, with Kylo laying between your legs and a deadly look on your face. If she thought Kylo seemed intimidating, you were worse- twice as menacing especially with you wielding a red lightsaber in each hand and after having thrown her away with such a force in your scream that you even managed to rip the trees in half.

She lays her palms on the icy snow and picks herself up. Finally standing, she wills her lightsaber back into her grip and turns it on as she holds the hilt with both hands and quickly paces towards you.

You let out a growl as you step your other leg over Kylo's body and run in her direction as well. You clash your lightsaber against hers and swing your other arm around to bring Kylo's down on her body but she pushes your saber back and holds her lightsaber downwards on her side to hit his blade away before bringing her saber over her head to strike it down on you.

You bring both of the sabers together in an X formation in front of you and capture her blue blade in the middle of the two. The sounds of the lightsabers crackling together mix with the sounds of her grunts as she tries to pull her saber back but before she could, you abruptly bring your arms down causing her arm to jerk down and the end of her lightsaber to hit the floor.

Before she could bring her weapon back up, you bring your foot up and shove it against her stomach, making her end up on the floor again as you swing your lightsaber over your shoulder. She rolls out of the way and you only manage to hit the floor where she had been.

Again, she picks herself up with her lightsaber still ignited and you go for the attack while she stays in defensive mode, only blocking your hits as you didn't give her enough time to make a move since you keep bringing down one lightsaber after the other on her, wearing her down.

The end of your lightsaber meets her shoulder, making her release a loud shot as she backs away, her chest heaving and her pants rapid. You continue to walk towards her like a predator stalking its prey. With both lightsabers still in hand and without moving your eyes away from her, you will one tree after another to come crashing down in her direction as she jumps left and right to avoid getting plummeted until there was just was silence.

She looks back towards where you were standing to see you missing and starts frantically turning her head to look around her. When she hears the sudden sound of lightsabers igniting behind her, she turns around, barley blocking your weapons as she holds her own horizontally in front of her face to press her blue blade against your two red ones before pushing you back.

You continue your attack mode as you feel her tiring. Her moves were getting more slow and sloppy but you were still more aggressive than ever as you use your hurricane of emotions to connect you deeper with the dark side of the force in a way that you have never felt before- you almost felt unstoppable like you could ravage through an entire base of rebels just yourself and leave no survivors.

You find another opening and slash her right arm, dragging Kylo's lightsaber against her skin, causing her to cry out in pain as she steps back and holds up her free hand to make his saber fly out of your grip.

You don't become fazed by this and only move your hand to wrap your fingers around your own hilt now as you march towards her. Again, she holds up her hand to push you back with the force. Your boots trail backwards through the snow as you bend down and drag your free hand on the floor, resisting her until she stopped.

You stand to your full height again and continue to make your way towards her. Holding out your hand, she gets lifted from the ground, dropping her lightsaber as she tries to claw away the invisible force tightening around her neck.

"I see who you are, scavenger. You're so weak- it makes it that much easier for me." You said through gritted teeth. "It's all so clear like an open book.. all your hopes and fears."

Rey only tries to gasp for any little breath she can get to her lungs, craning her neck up to try to relieve the tension as she looks up to the snowy sky.

"You think you've found a family with the resistance but they only reason they've taken you in is because you can move objects with your mind. Just another living weapon for their benefit in the war." Your venomous words dripped from your lips as you slowly closed your hand. "Alas you're still alone with no place in the galaxy. You're still that scared little girl that no one truly wants."

Rey's teary eyes widen as she looks back towards you and meets your own. She looked more fearful if that was even possible, her eyes almost bulging out of her like as if she had seen something more threatening than you but it was just you..or was it?

A louder rumble is heard from the ground beneath. It starts immensely shaking and cracking just between you and Rey, causing you to quickly step back as it fully splits apart and move away from each other. You let go of your hold on her as you back away from the crumbling ground, letting Rey fall back down as he lets out dry coughs and takes in deep gasps of sweet oxygen.

You walk back towards the edge, keeping your eyes locked on her. "I will find you again, scavenger and I promise I will make you feel an unimaginable kind of pain that will leave you begging for death! " You shouted.

Her chest was still heaving, her breaths erratic as her gaze didn't move from you. She continued to look at you with a pale white face and shocked eyes as she drags her body backwards on the snow before forcing her tired body up and running away from your view.

You hear Kylo wake up, gasping loudly, making you rapidly blink your eyes and erase the raging red that was coloring your vision that you hadn't noticed was there before.

You whip your body around to see him trying his hardest to stand up but only failing once the pain was unbearable. He turns to look at you, finally taking notice of the large slash in his face caused by Rey and you feel your breath get stolen from your lungs as your eyes start to burn with tears again.
