Once I awoke it was early morning. That's a surprise since I usually sleep in till 11 or 12 when it was the weekend. I looked around and sure enough it wasn't a dream. I was in a large room atop a fancy, Queen sized bed. The entire room was nicely decorated and old styled, yet very new. There was a an abrupt knock at the door.
"Yes," I answered tentatively.
"The young lord wishes your presence. Please come to the dining room when you freshen up and are in appropriate attire." Sebastian's voice informed from behind the door.
I didn't have to open the door to check. I knew he was no longer there. What did he mean by appropriate attire? I thought as I scratched my head. That's when I saw a poofy 19th century gown on the dresser. No... No, no, no! They didn't seriously want me to wear that! And then, there were those terrifying contraptions carefully put in front of the dresser! High heels! I might be 14, but I don't wear high heels! The murders of feet! I don't even wear make-up! Unless, it's Halloween or something in which I'm usually covered in blood... Not the point! If they thought I was wearing that stuff they're in for a surprise.
Just as I walked out the room I notice Sebastian to my left, waiting outside the door. He clicked his tongue in disappointment, or was it annoyance? Why was he waiting outside my room?!
"I had a feeling you were going to be difficult. Look at your hair, your clothing, your entire appearance. I can't have you dine with my young master like this." He spoke sadly.
"I did yesterday," I replied bluntly.
Sebastian smiled. "Not today!"
"I'm not wearing that thing!" I said defiantly.
"Then, shall I put on you forcefully?" He said meaning to fluster me.
Instead, since I knew his personality somewhat, "Pervert! Pedophile! Sebastian likes little kids! Ciel run away! Pervert! Perv-!"
Sebastian swiftly covered my mouth with a white gloved hand. I would not waver! I am not wearing that monstrosity! Yeah, I said/thought it! I hardly wear dresses as it is! There's no way I'm wearing that one!
"Mei Rin." He called.
"Yes, sir!" She responded, saluting like a solider.
" Please take Miss Samantha, and make sure she dresses correctly." He said with a devilish grin.
Oh shoot, I'm in for it... Immediately, Mei Rin grabbed me by the shoulders and shoved me back into the room. The door slammed behind me. Despite my screams and pleads she stripped me and, with much effort slipped on a corset! Shoot, totally forgot about those things! It felt like being squeezed by an anaconda! Once she had me in the suffocating torture device she forcefully slipped on the stupid dress. Mei Rin stuck the heels to my feet and began pushing out the door and through the hallways.
"No! No! I don't want to seen like this! This is humiliating!" I wailed.
"Now Miss Sam, you look fine lady now! Any girl would die to wear this!" She squealed in her usual high pitched voice.
I argued, "Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I like wearing dumb dresses! They just get in the way of everything! Especially gowns like this!"
I didn't feel like seeing Ciel or Sebastian. The fact they put me into this thing already irritated me. But, my stomach began to growl and I knew it was inevitable, I needed something to eat. So I followed Mei Rin through the halls and to the dining room, where I took a chair seats away from Ciel.
"So you can wear proper attire," Ciel said bluntly.
"Shut up, unlike you I can't stand wearing dresses," I mumbled under my breath.
He must have heard me because...
"What when di-did you?!" Ciel stuttered which was very rare for him. "That was only because-"
I cut him off. "Because you were investigating the Jack the Ripper case and you thought that freaky blonde noble guy could be him, sadly you were wrong and he just turned out to be a pervert who sells girls off to auction. Oh and he called you a robin! And turns out the murder was your aunt, Madame Red and Grell Suttcliff, the whacked up shinigami. Grell creeps me out sometimes..." I spoke with a shiver.
"I must say, you're convincing me much more now," Ciel admitted.
"Then, I will get out the food." Sebastian said.
All of a sudden, plates were thrown I the air and landed right in front of me and Ciel. It had a large piece of cinnamony pumpkin pie made to perfection. Good thing too because I am an extremely picky eater.
"I chose this dish today because of wonderful aroma and the sweetness as an extra since we have a guest. And it goes well with this cinnamon tea that was imported from Asia." Sebastian explained as he poured tea into Ciel's cup.
I took a bit into the slice pie. It was delicious! I'd seen his cooking from anime, but this was a totally different experience! And Ciel got to eat stuff like this everyday! Lucky duck!
"There's another one! Another one!" Mei Lin came in screeching.
Sebastian sighed. "Mei Rin please reframe from acting that way in front of the young master."
"Oh yes f-forgive me young master!" She squealed.
"Enough, just tell me what the problem is," said Ciel.
Bard and Finny came crashing in. The boys nearly broke a a priceless antique vase! Luckily, Sebastian speedily caught before it hit the ground. When they stopped next to Mei Rin they were huffing and puffing. Bard was the first one to catch his breath.
"Mei Rin did you tell the young master ab-!" Bard began as Mei Rin clamped a hand on his mouth.
"Shhhhh!" She scolded. "Speak quietly in front of the young master!"
"For crying out loud," I mumbled, then yelled. "What the heck is it?! Spit it out already!"
All eyes were on me. Even Sebastian was a bit genuinely surprised by my sudden outburst. Tanaka let out a strange hearty laugh and continued drinking his tea. Finally, Ciel cleared his throat.
"What are you causing a fuss about this time?" Ciel asked.
Before Bard and Mei Rin could speak Finny answered. "There's another girl, sir!"
Ciel stood up from the table. "What?!"
Sebastian stared at my way. "Did you send reinforcements?"
"Oh, I'm the suspect! How can I call someone over if I don't even know how got here in the first place!" I defended.
"We'll bring her in!" The trio shouted.
They rushed out the door quickly. When they came back they brought a girl in their arms. She looked seriously confused. She went with a start when she noticed Ciel and Sebastian. She was a bit taller than Ciel, seemed around my age. Her hair was brown, but dyed with several blonde streaks. The girl's skin was the common peach color, her faced slightly freckled. Her eyes were blue, with different colors bleeding from around her pupils. But, she was dressed in clothing from the 21st century, a blue tank top with Jean capris, and converse!
"Jane!" I exclaimed.
"Sam!" Yelped the girl.
Sebastian merely stood and watched. Ciel raised an eye brow with suspicion. Honestly, I didn't care at this point. So I got up and went to go greet Jane. Then, I remembered the gown... I turned around and covered my face.
"Oh my gosh! Sam is wearing a super frilly dress with bows! The world is coming to an end!" Jane joked.
I glared at her. "Shut up! I didn't want to put it on! They forced it on me!"
"They, what...." She trailed off.
"Not like that! Mei Rin put it on me! You have a dirty mind!"
She giggled. "I know, And you must come to the dark side."
I sighed. She was the same Jane as always. One of my only friends that enjoyed manga and anime as much as I did. Her full name is Jane Dora Margarita. She hates her middle name and thinks her last name is strange, I can't really blame her for that though.
"Say," whispered Jane. "What's with these cosplayers?"
"Jane, you gotta believe what I'm about to say right now. I thought they were cosplayers too, but these guys are the real deal. Sebastian's a real demon I've seen his eyes glow red and move supernaturally! I'm swear I'm not messing with you! I have no idea how we got here, please tell me you do! Oh, and Ciel kinda annoys me sometimes." I added. "Sorry, bad time for a joke."
"Sam, have you gone crazy with them?" She asked.
"Who are you calling annoying wretched girl! And who is this other girl?!" Ciel demanded.
"Ah, I know!" I said totally disregarding what Ciel just said. "Finny prove it to Jane by lifting something that most humans couldn't lift!"
"Alright!" Finny agreed without a care.
I began pushing Jane out the door forcefully. I wanted her to hurry up and see I wasn't insane, or maybe confirm I wasn't. Meanwhile, Ciel was yelling about being suspicious and that I'd better have explanation for this. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't crazy. Please, tell me I'm not delusional! I managed to get Jane outside the doors of the Phantomhive mansion.
"Sebastian sir! Is there any tree I can pick up?" Finny asked.
Sebastian muttered something under his breath. "Fine, but put it back down nicely..."
"Yes sir!"
Finny spit on his hands and rubbed them together. With a big smile on his face he put his thin arms around the tree and started to lift it from it roots. Little pieces of dirt, rock, and soil fell down as Finny lifted the tree up in the air. He had picked up roots and all.
Jane and I stared in awe. I still wasn't completely sure that he could really do it, but now that I've seen it, geez! Reality really hit me this time, this was all real. In that case, we could be real in real danger. Kuroshitsuji is a seriously, dangerous anime or manga. Me and Jane stared at each other. What the heck were going to do?
Finny carefully placed the tree in its rightful place in the orchard. Then, he tottered up cheerfully. Jane's eyes were wide with surprise.
"It wasn't just me who saw that right?"
"It's been a weird day for both of us," I told her.
Ciel walked out. "If you know so much about us I don't understand why you're so surprised."
"Okay you know what? The easiest way to explain this in words you'd understand is you're basically a book in our world. You don't really exist!"
Ciel snorted. "That ridiculous nonsense you're blabbering about. Can't you see me right here?"
"I know that's the problem!"
Jane slowly shook her self out her daze. And for the first time she had a real look around. It looked as if eyes were going to fall out her head if they got any bigger.
"Um Sam, how are we going to get out of here?" Jane questioned.
"I have no idea," I told truthfully.
"Did you by chance hear a voice?"
My blood went cold. "You heard the voice too! The sadistic creepy one?!"
"So it wasn't just me!" Jane said with relief.
"And I couldn't even tell if it was a boy or girl's voice!"
"I know right!" She exclaimed.
As we continued chattering Ciel was getting quite irritated. He strode back towards the mansion in annoyance. Sebastian followed silently after him. The trio hurried along doing their chores. We stopped talking when we heard saw flames flickering out of the kitchen.
"Bard," we said in unison.
Then it suddenly disappeared as quickly as it came. An alarming sound of plates crashing could be heard from with in the mansion.
"Mei Rin," we agreed at the same time, then high-5ed each other.
"Just wait next is Finny!" I guessed.
Jane nodded. "I can imagine that."
Sure enough another ruckus was made, presumably by Finny. I tried to hide a smirk on my face, and Jane withheld a giggle. We were so good!
"Sam, how are we going to survive here." Jane questioned seriously.
I rubbed my temples. "I have no idea!"
A chilling feeling abruptly shot up my spine. I shivered at the feeling. What in the seven hells was that?! The sky got ominously darker. The sweet chirping of small birds turned into the harsh cawing of crows. We weren't the only ones that saw this. Ciel, Sebastian, and the other three came to see what the commotion was about.
The voice sang into our ears, "Let's play a game! A game! A game!"
"Who are you? Show yourself!" Ciel shouted. Sebastian's eyes narrowed.
"Now, now little boy!" It chuckled. "Let me have fun, and you play a game!"
"What kind of game do you propose," Sebastian asked with a amused grin playing on his face."
Great, this must mean they're both demons....
"Hahaha!" It laughed. "Finally a game player! I'll strike you a deal!"
"And what would that be?" Ciel questioned further, intrigued by his proposition.
"If you win my game I will tell your master here, where and who murdered his dear parents!" It told Sebastian and laughed manically.
Ciel thought a moment. "Very well, we'll play your game. How do we play?"
A giant misty white finger popped from forming clouds and pointed at us. "Keep them from entering that portal." The finger pointed to a flashing light with alternating colors shaped in a long rectangle. The portal.
"Easy enough," Ciel said.
Sebastian bowed. "I shall get this over quickly."
"They're just kids, don't cripple them too bad."
"Of course," he assured him.
Ciel snatched off his eye patch, revealing his violet eye with the mark of the seal on it. The sign of their deal. He stood straighter and prouder. "Sebastian I order you by our contract to stop those girls from entering the portal, and play this game!"
Sebastian bit the glove off one of his hands showing the seal mark on it, his nails were black. Probably because they were really dark talons. "Yes, my lord."
"And before we begin, Samantha, my dear Samantha and Jane! If you get to that portal you will be able to leave this world!"
We looked each other with astonishment. We had to get to that portal no matter what! But, how could we get pass Sebastian?! That's impossible!!
"But, in the state you two are in it would be no fun!" The voice pouted. "So I will give you the ability to adapt to your surroundings!"
"What the-!" Jane said with a start.
Swarming light surrounded her. I reached my hand towards her to pull her out. But, by then it was already over. Jane was unharmed, just her hair was tied neatly in a fancy side pony tail, her braces had disappeared I notice. The biggest change was the pink gown she was wearing, that looked very much like the one Ciel wore when he was investigating the Jack the Ripper case during the party. One of Jane's eyes turned violet with an awfully familiar symbol. It was a symbol I made up one day for myself, it was an arrow that split into two waved curved, just under it a circle, the an arrow tip pointing the opposite direction. Sorry, awful explanation... But how does it know about it?
Before I could even say anything, I myself was engulfed in the blinding light. It swirled across arms and legs, all over my body, traveling down my skin. It made me fell weirdly naked. As the light started dissipating I felt great power in my body, the trails of light left black clothes on me. Black butler's clothes....
I held up a white gloved hand and pulled in off with my teeth (c'mon I just had to copy Sebastian!) The same symbol on Jane's eye was on the back of my hand. As I stared at the sign power surged through my body. Jane gasped looking at me.
"Samantha! Your eyes are gleaming red!" She choked.
"What?! And you're wearing Ciel's dress and have his eye thing going on!"
"I can say the same for your hand!" She told me. "Hey, isn't this your symbol?!"
"Yeah..." My words drifted off.
Ciel was suddenly angry. "What is the meaning of this!" He demanded.
"If it's easy it's no fun! I just evened out the odds! Goodbye my little play things!" And the voice disappeared, except the portal stayed.
"I see," Sebastian muttered to himself. "Do not worry my lord, I will finish this off easily. They are still children."
I took in a deep breath, but Jane beat me to it. "So is Ciel!"
"C'mon Jane!" I said with renewed vigor. "Let's beat their butts! Somehow...."
Sebastian was suddenly in front of me. "You don't sound so confident." He mused.
"Shut up!" I screamed. "Jane! Order me!"
Sebastian sent a blow to my stomach, and I flew into a tree knocking it down. But, it didn't really hurt. Oh great, my friends might be right, I'm satan... No Sebastian's more of satan than me! Phew, close one!
"Sam!" Jane cried. "Sam, I order you to get us to the portal or beat up Sebastian- just get us out of here!"
"Do I call you lord, or Madame, or mistress or something?"
"Just do something!" She yelled.
"Yes, my lord."
Adrenaline pumped through my body and my blood raced. I found myself grinning, smirking devilishly. Sebastian stood there smiling, leaving himself totally ungraded.
"You can't beat in 100 years."
My feet took off on their own. And the split second after Sebastian said that I was right in front of him. Before he could react I jabbed him in the belly as he had done to me.
"I wouldn't say that, though I'm not nearly as old as you."
I was surprised by my own cockiness, this was Sebastian we were talking about. But, Sebastian's shock was the greatest, Ciel was gawking. Sebastian was knocked into the mansion, destroying on of its walls. He emerged from the dust and rubble.
"What the hell! Impossible! Sebastian what's the meaning of this?!" Ciel ordered.
A girlish voice squealed. " I guess she's pretty tough, huh, Sebas-chan! Oh hey there kid.
Grell came out of the sky, landing gracefully. His shinigami chainsaw in hand, something is really wrong with this anime. Grell was a man, a gay one so he talked really girly like. He had long red hair, yellow eyes, a red jacket cost thing with long sleeves. Grell Suttcliff, a shinigami, one that didn't like following the rules. He wasn't too fond of girls, and is awfully sadistic for those of you who don't know. It's not that he doesn't like girl he just prefers men much, much more, and he's really open about it.
"Grell Suttcliff," me and Jane murmured.
"Oh! You seem to know me girlies! Boo, there's no boys! I'll side Sebas-chan again!" He giggled.
"I have no need of your help, Grell-san," he told Grell.
"Ah, stop playing hard to get Sebas-chan!"
Sebastian ignored him and presumed without battle. He threw a something at my face, the fact I was able to dodge it surprised me greatly, but it was like I was unable to show it on my face. I remained stoic. The thing he threw at me turned out to be a fork, and it was stuck in an apple tree behind me. I ran at him with inhumane speed, but once I got there he miraculously disappeared like glitch on a Tv screen. I spun around feeling his presence behind me. Too late. He punched me in the stomach hard. I skidded across the ground, leaving a shallow trench.
"Sam!" Shouted Jane panicked.
I gasped, he had knocked wind out of me. Quickly, I regained my breath and stood up. Sebastian slugged me in the face and didn't blink an eye. Man, I knew this already, but seriously no mercy!
"I'm fine Jane! Remember I got mad demon skills now!" I assured.
"Sometimes I worry about," Jane sighed.
"Don't judge me!" I said.
"I already have!"
While we had that conversation Sebastian took the chance to throw silverware at me again. Six at the time. I barely managed to avoid the last butter knife, it cut the shoulder of my black suit. Luckily it didn't even break skin. Sebastian threw himself at me again giving me jabs and kicks. All of them I instinctively evaded. It was a real miracle. We actually had a chance! I sucker punched Sebastian, I wiped some blood off my lip. It was amazing how the pain in wounds weren't that bad, and how I didn't even care.
"Sebastian! Hurry this up!" Ciel ordered. "Or are not able to do it?!"
Sebastian's glowered at sending tingles down my spine, not the good kind of tingly feeling. Something bad was going to happen. And my worst fears came true as Sebastian approached Grell.
"Grell-san would you do the honors of helping me?"
Grell sulked defiantly. "Why should I when you rejected me before!"
"Can't you do this for me Grell?"
Grell turned his head back. "Can we tie tongues?!"
"I don't know what you mean, but I'll tie two tongues if you do this for me."
All I could say was. "Ewwwwww!"
What can I say I was seriously disturbed. But, now Sebastian had extra man power. And this was Grell, he's a super strong psychopath! I was struggling with Sebastian already!
"You stink, I hate you! That's not fair you're cheating!" I whined.
Sebastian responded. "All is fair in love and war."
"Especially love! Right Sebas-chan!" Squealed Grell. He sounds like a fan girl....
Jane panicked. She couldn't anything without power. Ciel on the other hand remained cool headed and relaxed, he was used to other people doing the dirty work for him.
Grell grazed my pant leg as he swung his chainsaw excitedly. Sebastian came at me from behind side kicking me in the back. I felt vibrations in my spine, now I was really feeling the pain. I held back tears. They were really trying to cripple me!
I stood on my hand s and knees. I had a really dumb idea that might get me killed. As discreetly as I could I made my arms and legs shake, and shiver. I kept my face down to the ground.
"You had enough dearie!"
"Please just stop, we need to leave here!" I begged pathetically.
"That is something I cannot allow, it goes against my master's wishes." Sebastian told me. "I'll make painless."
He's seriously going for the kill! Aw man, this really stinks! I still can't see what those Sebastian fan girl see in him! He's sadistic and merciless! What the heck! I waited till Sebastian and Grell got close enough, then BAM!
I had taken the fork from the tree and threw it at them. As they moved to dodge I kicked Grell squarely in the stomach, he flew into a few trees and again into the poor mansion. I don't think he'd be waking up any time soon, I would kicked that hard sooner if I knew that was going to happen!
I managed to scratch Sebastian in the face before he evaded my attack. My nails are kinda long... He put his fingers to the marred part of his skin, and stared at the blood that was dabbed onto his finger tips. A drip of Crimson slipped down his cheek.
"Impressive," he complimented. "But, it ends here."
Sebastian's eyes were hungry and filled with blood lust as he sped at me. Shoot! This might be the end! What should I do! What should I do!
"Sebastian stop!" I screamed. "I can understand killing me, but don't run over the poor cat!"
At the sound of the word cat Sebastian's cheeks brightened and his eyes softened. He quickly looked around. Though Sebastian was cat obsessed(that's probably his only weakness) he wasn't stupid.
"Hey, there kitty-," he stopped.
I grabbed Jane, hauling her over my shoulder and ran with superhuman strength, speed, and agility. Jane let out a small screech as we took off. The portal was in sight we were almost there. A hand slapped me in the face so hard it knocked to the ground, and I dropped Jane.
"Smart trick, it seems you do know me well. This is the end." He said.
Jane shrieked, "Stop!"
We all turned to see Jane. She had a piece of broken glass from one of the windows that broke during the fight, she had it at Ciel's throat. Ciel clicked his tongue angrily. This is why he shouldn't always rely on others!
"If you don't want your young lord to have it stand down! I mean it!" She warned.
Sebastian furrowed his eyebrows and clenched his fist, but he relented. The portal was a foot or two behind Ciel. If I could just get there fast enough. But, Sebastian would catch us by that time. I was running out of ideas. That's when it hit me...
"Jane drop the glass and run!" I told her.
Ciel took the chance to give out an order. "Sebastian now!"
Sebastian was already on top of it. He was pulling out from what I can, was silverware from within his coat. Readily, I pulled out my own weapon. Faster than an arrow I tossed Jane over my my shoulder like a potato sack, and threw thick shards of cracked glass.
"Heads up Sebastian!"
I charged towards the portal with Jane squirming on my shoulder. She was surprisingly light.probably due to awesome demon strength! Okay, back to the story. The glass shards were headed right towards Ciel's head. Instantly, Sebastian redirected his silverware weapons at the shards heading at Ciel. I knew I wouldn't have to worry about getting away with murder! Good job Sebastian!
That stall provided us enough time to reach the portal. I could hear Ciel cursing behind me. Sorry dude, but I didn't feel like dying anytime soon. Waves of color with every shade of the rainbow surrounded us. It was quite a sight to behold, it was astonishing. We were finally going home. My demon strength vanished, so since it was but harder to hold Jane I put her down. We grinned at each other. We had just beaten Ciel Phantomive and Sebastian Michealis! They were nearly invincible.
"We are so awesome!" I shouted in celebration.
We fist bumped. "We're going home!" Jane said.
At the time, we didn't know how wrong we were......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My head was throbbing all over again. When did I go to sleep. Man, was that a funka deli dream. (You will continue to hear weird phrases like that as you read) All of a sudden, I noticed Jane was laying on top of me. She groaned. I couldn't see as clearly. Though, I could see a blurry figure of a person.
"Oi! Are you awake? Are you alive? Wake up!" A male voice said.
Then, I could feel someone prodding my cheek. Another blurred figure came in. This one was more, well, curvy. I'm guessing this was a girl. Behind them were two more figures.
"Ahhhh! Natsu! Stop poking someone who was just unconscious!" The girl figure shrieked.
The boy sounded confused. "Eh? Why not?"
"Because it common sense even for idiots," spoke another male voice.
"You wanna fight?! You're on droopy eyes!!" The first voice shot back.
"You're on squinty eyes!!"
"Don't worry it'll be over quick ya pervert exhibitionist!!!"
A second authoritative female voice interrupted their argument. "Enough! You're bickering in front of the injured have some respect!"
"Yes!!" The boys sang in panicked unison.
She ordered. "We'll take them back to the guild, master will know what to do."
No way..... It can't be couldn't it? But that would mean we're not home, that would mean we're in....
