The yellow sunlight burned down on Varian's head as the wind made the grass surrounding him rustle. He was sitting cross-legged on the floor, looking at the scene in front of him. Based on his internal clock, it must be about 6 am. He sighed, elbows on his knees and head resting on his hands. He sat in silence for a moment before he felt a presence approaching him. Varian narrowed his eyes, looking up through his goggles.

"Oh. Hugo."

"Morning, Goggles."

"Morning."

Hugo sat down next to Varian, holding his hand up over his eyes. "How the hell are your eyes not burning out of their sockets? This sunlight is intense."

Varian said nothing, just tapped the side of his goggles. Hugo's mouthed an 'Ohhhh', but no sound came out. The two sat in silence, the only sound being the rushing of the river below. Varian's legs were still crossed, and his elbows still rested on his knees, but his hands were down, pointing inwards towards each other. Hugo had one leg propped up, with the relating arm resting on top of it. His other hand rested on the ground behind him, propping him up as the other leg stretched outwards.

The two didn't need words. All they needed was each other's presence. They were comfortable, safe and secure. They thought they couldn't wait until they got home, until they realized their home was wherever their friends were. And that was perfect.
