ARDEN

I shoved through the congested crowds at the airport. Different conversations filled the air.

"Where you heading to?"

"My flight got cancled, shit."

"Where's the bathroom?"

I heard my name being called in the distance. My next actions resembled a kid that lost his parents at a supermarket. Finally I spotted Mikey and the guys. His blue, purple, and white dyed hair distinct from the crowd. I ran to them chanting their names, earning glares from the other people. They all engulfed me in a hug, the coldness of my locket pressing againsted my warm skin from all the running. We all untangled ourselves from eachother.

"So Arden, do you think you'll survive without us?" Calum quirked an eyebrown a smirk plastered on his lips, I punched his shoulder lightly

"More like you can't survive about me! Hey Ash, watch these kids for me. We all know your the dad of the group." I send a wink his way, he shot a playful scowl towards me.

"You know Ar, I know where you're ticklish." He warns.

"Irwin, don't even think about it." Ignoring my threat he chased me around the chairs that were bulleted permenatly to the floor. I turn my head only to find him hot on my trail. My body collided with someone's chest. The mysterious person wrapped their arms around me, it felt very familiar. Then all the puzzle pieces came together, Luke.

"Get her Ash!" He yelled over my shoulder, placing his chin on the top of my head.

"Hey Lukey, I hope you aren't allergic to nuts because I'm gonna kick them so hard they'll be in your mouth."

"Wha-" He couldn't even finish his sentence before I did the unspeakable. I kicked Luke Hemmings' balls. He howled in pain while the guys fell to the floor in laughter. Evelyn rushed to his side with a cup of coffee that has a confusing name that I probably couldn't recite.

"What happened here?!" A panic look spread across her face.

"Arden.Kicked.Him.In.The.Balls." Michael chocked out between laughs. Luke whimpered silently snuggling into Evelyn's shoulder. I was partly sad but I was laughing to hard to care.

"Arden why the hell would you do that?!" She scowls deeply, I think she could beat the Grinch in a scowl contest.

"We're Best Friends, right Luke?" He grunted in approval.

"Flight 107 heading to California, Is now boarding." My smile faded instantly. The laughter died down quickly, only replaced with watery eyes.

"So I guess this is when we part ways?" Calum mutters quietly, trying to conceal his tears. I burst into tears at his comment.

LUKE

Arden began crying after Calum's statement. I honestly wish I could wrap her in a hug and never let her go. Tell her that everything will be just fine. Sadly she chose to hug Ashton, the guys enveloped her in a hug. Evelyn held a strong grip on my hand, I so badly wanted to join them.

Once they unraveled themselves I ripped my hand out of Evelyn's and ran towards Arden. With teary eyes and messy hair she still looked perfect, standing there with the sweatshirt she likely stole from me. I engulfed her in a hug and in that moment, I never wanted to let go.

"Come on Luke, we have to go." Ashton's voice trembled, he yanked on my arm. I nodded my head side to side not wanting to leave my Ar-bear. Michael had to seperate us, it's like spliting air. Impossible. After a few moments I finally let go, my heart sunk.

"You keep that locket with you at all times okay? I don't want to leave you but I promise I'll be back soon. I love you and I promise to skype you, write you, even text you everyday until I come back." Both my hands cup her cheeks and her hands placed on top of mine. I place a kiss on her forehead before heading with the lads to the plane door. My eyes never left hers, I glanced at her one last time before those damn plane doors. I could barely hold it all inside.

MONTHS LATER
ARDEN

Luke lived up to his promises, he called me when I woke up and before I went to bed. He promised me that he would be home soon and I would always be his bestfriend no matter what. One night we were facetiming eachother and Luke thought he hung up. Little did he know I was still there. I was about to end the call until I heard familiar voices. Evelyn. The conversation was muffled but I could make out what they were saying.

"Where have you been?!"

"I was just facetiming Ar."

"You know you've been talking to her alot lately. Facetiming, Calling, Texting. Luke I'm your girlfriend not her!" I heard a large crash, it sounded like glass. Were they throwing plates at each other?!

"Evelyn I know you're upset but you didn't need to break a lamp. Now we have to pay for it."

"That's all you care about?! A damn lamp! To think you would actually care about my feelings."

"I do care about you. I love you, Eve." His words made made my heart sink.

"Don't give me that bullshit! I know you liked Arden before you dated me." Wait, back it up, he liked me?

"Liked. Past tense. Like my feelings for her. They are in the past. I only like her as a friend." Ouch.

"You know what, I'll just sleep in Michael's room. I've been spending alot of time with him after you neglected me for Arden."

"Evelyn, I'll stop talking to her if you want me to." I heard a loud bang and then silence, I ended the call, the silence was too deafening. The usual calls per day started to become weekly calls, monthly calls, and then he just stopped. No texts, facetimes, not even a single notification on Twitter or Instagram. So I did what I promised him I wouldn't do months ago on the monkey bars. I stopped missing him.
