🔸Tseni, Mihgi, and Yinhi

The Tseni and their relations, the Mihgi and the Yinhi are guardian fox spirits of the forest and to a certain extent, of the household. In mythology, the Tseni symbolise love and care, the Yinhi symbolise prosperity and good fortune, and the Mihgi symbolise protection from evil.

The fox spirits live near shrine groves or in forests, and are led by an elder leaf or tribe head. All the foxes belonging to a tribe are considered to be leaves of the same tree. A fox spirit excluded from their tribe is called a fallen leaf. It is forbidden for any member to address another by their name, since calling a fox by their name can summon them, thereby denying them freedom.
