"Fourteen centuries ago, a prince, the age of nine, wanted to be his best. The best in the world many say. He wanted to make his parents proud. He was the first child of the first family made by the moon goddess. He was a strong boy, and everyone loved and praised him as he passed. But as the boy grew older havoc occurred where he passed-"

"But why is bad happening." One of the children ask.

"I'm getting to it little one, be patient." Alpha Alara said as she returned to reading.

"As the boy had grown, the want of power grew. His parents, the king and Queen were waiting for his eighteenth birthday to crown him king. However, the little boy, prince Theseus, wanted no such thing. He did not care for the wants of his people or the traditions they had wanted to begin. He wanted the power of the crown and the power that came along with taking his place as the rightful king.

The night of the princes sixteenth birthday he went into the bedroom where his parents laid and watched them as they slept. He knew what he had to do and did not regret his actions of that night as he stared at the motionless bodies that laid upon the floor. The prince walked through his castle and sat carefully on is throne as he smelled the fear from his pack. The prince was crowned king as his pack needed a leader. However, the loving prince was no longer and in place was something evil. Some call this evil the Grim.

As violence began to cover the lands the eight other original families hid underground as they prepared for war against the King. They would have to learn to come together to kill the man who put fear into the lives of those, where fear should not lay. They found those who were not loyal to the king and trained them night and day. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned into months, and then years. Rumors and suspicions of a rebel group got to the ears of the King and he set out a group to find them with his right-hand man.

But this was the king's down fall as he had left himself all alone in the dark tower and now it was time for his end to come. The eight families surrounded him and fought the Grim together. A glaring light had surrounded the room as the eight families used their abilities for the good of the people and not for the revenge of the dead.

Then the silence came. The war had stopped, the pack stood silent as there king bled out as his hollowed eyes stared out of the window into the sky. And as the life slowly left him, the pack had finally gotten a glimpse of the happy little boy they all once loved and cheered.

The eight families carried the dead king to the Lake of Whispers. The king was not mourned for but was finally put to rest as the pack and the eight families watched his coffin slowly flow away.

Now the lands live in peace away from the evil that had consumed the once lively land of Canter Wraemore." Alpha Alara finishes the tale.

Alpha Alara looks at the little crows that has formed around her as the parents have settled around with their little ones and the teenagers sit towards the back of the crowd all hearing the tale of the little boy who turned Grim. Alpha Alara was proud to share the story for she knew the tale of the little boy was not just a tale but the truth of the demise of the original ninth family that had been one of the first born werewolf families that harnessed the blood elemental.

As Alpha Alara became lost within her thoughts of the histories of the book of the Amaritalan and its history of the first nine families a searing pain rose within her. A connection of sorts. As Alpha Alara felt this searing pain the other original families were feeling it to. A pain that was only meant for one thing.

A Warning.

A warning of something treacherous on its way.
