The warmth of Mark's lips against his own made Donghyuck melt into his boyfriend's arms so willingly. The kiss was a passionate one, reflecting the irreplaceable love that they had for one another.
Mark had the younger pinned to the wall, one hand resting on the wall beside Hyuck's head, and the other cupping his cheek to deepen the kiss.
"Mark," Donghyuck quietly groaned when they broke away for air. "We have to go to the hall," he continued, raising his hand to flick the older's nose whilst trying suppress the blush that spread like wildfire across his cheeks.
"Who needs to graduate anyway?" Mark whined while resting his head on the shorter's shoulder lovingly.
"Me!"
So, with little complaint from his boyfriend, Donghyuck led the older towards the school hall where they would graduate with their friends. The blonde quickly adjusted his clothing, fixing up any damage Mark had done before pushing the grand oak door open, revealing rows and rows of families and friends who awaited the arrival of the principal.
"Just in time," Mark mumbled quietly, following Donghyuck's lead to the front of the seating area.
The pair squeezed past people to get to their friends who sat in the second row back wearing disgusted looks.
"Were you two doing the nasties?" Jeno asked quite loudly, gaining attention from others in their class.
Jaemin face palmed, nudging Jeno gently to tell him off.
"Don't say those things, Jen. People get grossed out!" Renjun hissed, slapping the back of the younger's head.
Meanwhile, their friends from the year below them laughed loudly at the scene. They were seated behind the graduating class, and more specifically, behind Jeno and Mark.
The couple merely shrugged in an unbothered way, having gotten used to their teasing ways long ago. Not much more could be added to the conversation as the doors creaked open again, and the principal came walking in with the vice principal by her side.
She wore a glamorous purple dress that suited the middle aged woman. It was fancy enough to be classy, but not tacky.
A round of applause erupted through the school hall as she entered, as if she was a celebrity.
The seven boys - among many - clapped as well, small smiles gracing their features as they thought of their reality.
Five of them were leaving for college in September, and the other two would be in their senior year with big exams weighing on their minds.
It was all quite crazy really, because it felt as if only the other day the seven of them were four or five, fighting over who got which toy.
Had they matured much since then? Not at all. But had they moved past the petty argument of who got the Iron Man toy? Well....not really either.
They all looked up as the names began rolling from the principal's mouth after a brief introduction.
"Huang Renjun!" She called out after a few minutes. The Chinese boy stood with pride, brushing down his clothes before confidently striding up to the stage. With a firm shake of the hand, he received the scroll and posed for a photo.
He came trailing back down to the seating area, more names being called as he did so.
The second eldest had a sly grin on his face as he sighed deeply. College was around the corner, and he knew that the next step of their lives wouldn't break up the lifelong friendship he had with each boy.
The list of names continued, none of them truly significant to them until "Lee Donghyuck!" was announced through the microphone.
As the blonde stood, he felt tears come to his eyes as he tried to push through the row. He bent down to kiss Mark's cheek before walking to the stage where his actions mirrored what Renjun had done earlier.
He looked out into the audience, eyes briefly flicking over everyone to find his mum crying whilst being embraced by his dad who had tears in his eyes.
He then moved his gaze to see Mark who gave him a thumbs up before continuing to clap.
He graduated! He was finally done with the hell that was school!
Once again he took his seat, more names rolling out of the principal's mouth.
Smiles were etched onto each of their faces as Lee Jeno was called out, soon followed by Lee Mark. And finally, the last name of any relevance to the blissful boys, Na Jaemin.
The list of names continued, and finally ended with 'Z' to which the graduating class joined the kid on stage, everyone huddled together with tears streaming down their faces.
This was it....It felt amazing, yet the foreboding feeling of the unknown still crept into everyone's mind.
"3,2,1." The countdown from their year leader was followed by a shower of graduation hats that came floating down on them.
Donghyuck wiped his tears away with his sweater paws before looking up to his boyfriend for a kiss.
And a kiss he received.
