When everyone from my class were already gone, I went out of my classroom and started to walk towards the faculty room. I had to wait for thirty minutes until everyone was gone.

Holding a stack of test papers, I carefully made my way around the halls of the public highschool I studied in. Trying my best not to bump into anyone, I reached the faculty room.

The door was open so I went in without hesitation. Only a few teachers were inside and they didn't even notice me.

I placed the stack of papers on top of Miss Voghn's desk and left the room without a word.

Even if I'm tired, I had to do so much errands just so I won't fail her class. My mom would beat me with a wooden spoon if I did.

She had high expectations. She thinks that I'm the smartest and there's nothing in the world that I don't know.

Well I'm not.

I sighed as I walked out of the main hallway. The sky was gloomy but it looks like it won't rain yet.

Passing by the feild, I saw many of my classmates just sitting on the bleachers, chatting.

I was too preoccupied to notice a group of girls were walking towards my direction. They were the same group I bumped into this morning.

I was surprised when one girl pushed me. Not forceful enough to make me fall though.

"If it isn't plain jane. What's her name again, Nerissa?" A girl with bright blue asked the brunette beside her. She was the first one I noticed in her group. She wore her cheerleader uniform like it were designer clothing and her pretty face is actually a head-turner.

"I don't know. I didn't even know she existed until this morning when she spilled coffee on my new tank top!" The brunette snapped. She looked pissed off as she rolled her eyes heavenwards.

The blue-eyed girl walked closer and leaned. "We'll make your remaining years in highschool hell, plain jane." She whispered. She had a smile plastered on her pretty face. She raised her brow at me and laughed as she and her friends walked away.

It took me a few minutes standing there, talking to myself that everything is going to be fine. I will not be intimidated by just their threats. I have better things to do.

Right, I have better things to do.

I took a deep breath before leaving the school campus. It was already dark and I think it's going to rain soon.

"Seven o' three." I read as I glanced at my wristwatch.

While I was walking home, it drizzled and the rain began to pour. I didn't bother to look for a place to shelter.

It was dark but it feels familiar in a comfortable way.

I had so many memories under the rain when I was a kid up until now. I liked the feeling of being under it. It washes all the disappointment and anxiety I feel away.

When I arrived home, Claude was sitting on his recliner, reading a newspaper. I thought he didn't notice me, but he did.

He cleared his throat to get my attention and put his newspaper down.

"Angela is out. Go make dinner." He stared at me with a blank expression. I just nodded and headed straight to the kitchen. I put my bag in a nearby chair and I started making Claude's dinner.

I decided to make something easy to cook because Claude gets grumpy and violent when he's angry or not in the mood. I still don't get why mom stays with him even though he hits her almost everyday. Is it because he can give her everything she wants?

After making dinner, I strode off to my room. I am tired, no doubt. But I have a lot more schoolwork to do than usual. Most of my classmates asked me to do their homework and I just can't say no.

"Three forty five AM." I sleepily read the numbers on my digital clock. I heard my mom's car arrive home hours ago but she never came to my room to check up on me. She never did.

"No one..." I wan't able to finish my sentence because I can feel my eyelids closing.

And as quick as that, I fell asleep.

Colors. Pink, red, blue yellow. They were so bright that I had to shut my eyes close. But then, it became subtle.

I hear the chirping of birds and when I opened my eyes, I was lying on a grassland. My arm itchy from ant bites and grass.

It was so peaceful that I secretly wished I won't leave.

I stood up and walked for what I think has been hours.

I can hear laughing but I can't find who it was or where it came from.

I stopped walking. I am infront of a tombstone.

"No one..." I couldn't read the next lines. The tombstone looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. It has moss all over it so I kneeled and tried to take the moss off.

But the ground beneath me shook. The chirping of birds became cries of pained souls and crows.

The ground split into half and I fell.

I fell and landed on my back. I wanted to scream.

But when I did, soil and grass poured down from above and covered my mouth. It left an unpleasant taste in my mouth.

And I felt like I was being choked. I can't breathe anymore.

I lay there, struggling to breathe until it suffocated me.
